memorable stay amongst the lap of nature
on Oct 12, 2017
A comfortable stay with decent amenities, courteous and helpful staff . The scoring point was the breath taking view from the rooms of the snow capped mountains and the gushing noise of the river Beas flowing right next to the hotel!!! the air was pure and the surrounding was serene!! The rooms and bathrooms were clean and maintained. The food was good and quite child friendly!! the only drawback I found was that they had installed normal geysers which took more than 20 mins to heat up before the next use!!
Luxurious hotel in Good Location

If you are planning to visit Manali and Rohtang you might consider staying in Solang valley and Hotel Iceland will be the best place. We stayed a entire group of 15 people. Food quality and service is very good. They have a green outfield and large area to view the mountains and the valley. Rooms are clean and spacious inclduing toilets. The valley for the skiing is 5 minutes walking from the hotel. From Manali it will take 30 minutes to reach Solang considering mild traffic. During our entire 2 weeks stay in Himachal we got the best food over here with variety to choose from.
Just OK Type

The hotel is located about 20 km North of Manali in the Solang Valley. The location is nice. Staff is friendly and food is homely, not so fancy. The major problem is their reluctance to accept credit/ debit card payments. One has to drive back to Manali city to fetch cash to pay them. The rooms are spacious with nice mini balconies, bathrooms need improvement. Rooms towards the rear side offer the view of beas river in its nascent stage. Tariffs are high for the facilities provided.

Gurgling Beas and Snowcapped mountain views

The hotel is nestled in the Solang Valley, just besides the gurgling sounds of the Beas River with a view of the magnificent Himalayas from your room window. I think the hotel offers one of the best views cutting across all hotels around Manali. A quick trek around the hotel takes you to the banks of the Beas Rapids, and you can walk around in wonderful pine forests just around the hotel.
It is a quaint and cosy hotel with comfortable rooms; expect an inn/motel type facility; do not expect anything very fancy. What it loses in frills is however made up by the friendly and efficient staff.
The rooms are well made-up with wooden log-cabin atmosphere; and have the basic comforts. Has more electric points for charging your gadgets than most luxury hotels have.
The food is tasty and good, you can expect a homely taste of Indian Cuisine here. I did'nt try the continentals.
One small suggestion though: the camp-sites nearby have strong focus lights aimed at the hotel, and these lights do obstruct a good photographic opportunity in the night-time; and is quite irritating if one wants to sit in the balcony.
