Economy at it's best
on Apr 3, 2018
We happen to stay in the hotel for about a week. Our stay was made comfortable by staff curtsy and very helpful front office. Cleanliness was really. Money wise it is an economy hotel. Location is perfect and is well connected by busses, metro rail, and taxies. Good eating houses and roadside food stalls abound.
Not international at all!

We didn't book the hotel, but landed forcefully by hotel esteem as they shifted us saying no room available (though we booked a room via agoda). We were given a deluxe room instead of executive deluxe (for which we paid in hotel esteem). The first thing I saw after entering room was little coakroaches. The room was dirty, television wasn't working & the bathroom was horrendous. The only good thing was the location. But if you want to be near new market area & cleanliness is not a priority, I'd recommend hotel in marquis or mirja galib street.
Value for money

A good location hotel and very much value for money this would offer you over your stay in Kolkata. The staff is good and polite. In hotel restaurant also available. Some of the tourist attractions are very accessible.
Economically priced in the Heart of the city

Standard rooms with very basic stay. ok for transit stay. Lots of good local eateries around which is an attraction of Kolkata.
Travel to any part of Kolkata including railway station and airport is easy and economical.
Not quite International

This is just another local 2-star kind of hotel, with smelly corridors, and expensive food. The looks from outside is not at all reflective of what waits for you inside. The worst is their service boys. They take for granted whatever you pay. For example, I paid Rs 1000 for food that cost Rs 820, and the service boys never bothered to return me the balance amount. Moreover, I had to ask them at least 4 times,to finally get my balance refunded to me. As I stayed for 2 days there, and had 2 meals, and once snacks, I faced this challenge thrice. Finally, on my way out, they helped me get a cab, that does not run on meter, and is semi-owned by the hotel. The driver charged me Rs. 500 for 2.5 kms.
Very bad experience. I had previously read about and watched dacoits in movies. These people exemplify that.
