    All's well, but...

    Getting a room at a short notice is by itself a matter of luck. I consider myself lucky this way. Reaching the hotel from the main road is tad difficult. Either you have to queue up for an elevator ride to the mall road, and thats mostly time consuming, or you have to climb flights and flights of stairs (there's also a ramp, but rather steep and winding), should you choose not to. Once on the mall road, you are appalled to see cars plying up and down, though you'd have been dropped off down under. These cars and trucks either belong to star hotels, or the government, you are explained. If luck has it, after a couple of lift rides, you arrive right in front of the hotel, sharing its entrance with the Vivo bar and restaurant. A dark flight of stairs (well, somewhat) and you are led to a balcony. Room 6 is one room offering a spectacular view of the entire Shimla city. Food from the restaurant at the hotel is on the pricier side, with a bowl of plain Maggi noodles costing about Rs 80. But with Pizza Hut and KFC just across the street, food is not a factor worth sniggering at. National Bakery next door also happens to be one of the very few serving non veg bakery products. And must I mention the sweet shop in front. What good is a well appointed washroom without water? Yes. The biggest woe of Shimla is the ever present water scarcity. You hardly get water on tap for 15 minutes a day. So geysers and fancy bath fittings are necessarily showpieces. They lug up a 50 litre drum to the room on being poked my Mrs Bhagra, the hotel owner. So if you are planning to freshen up at the hotel, if you must, carry wet tissues, or else forget it. The hotel staff are courteous, but mind the Kashmiri porters who are ever ready to fleece you. Also, be aware that the elevators work only from 8am to 8pm, and any excursion beyond ---- punishing stair calling. I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights from 25th May. Excepting the water woes, it was an enjoyable experience.... More

    Worst hotel

    Bad experience v had,not worth of money v spent,it is overpriced considering quality of room n services they provide.only plus point is its location on mall road opp lift. There was water leakage in bathroom,tv wasnt working,phone stopped wirking on last day,problem in water supply on last day. They refused to change the room upon our request more than once.room curtains were dirty too,since v paid in advance to make my trip n was non refundable,v had no choice but stayed there.... More

    AWESOME - One should visit in the lifetime

    The hotel is really nice with a beautiful great natural view of Shimla. The staff is very nice & courteous. Rooms are very neat and clean. The food in VIVA restaurant is very affordable & delicious. It certainly is one of the best hotels we have stayed. Definitely we recommend and would stay in this hotel again with family on our next visit to Shimla. If we have to sum it up then we would say it’s AWESOME.... More

    A budget hotel...Not to expect much...

    A budget hotel at good location on Mall road, just opposite to the lift. Room that was given (Semi-deluxe) to us was very small, with a bed, TV, bathroom, small sofa. Room was clean. Services are OK types, as when we went out we asked them to clean our room. When we came back, we found that they only cleaned the floor and bathroom. Nothing else was done. They didnt cleaned / organized the bed. The pillows, blanket, bed sheet was left as it is. When we told the manager about this, he said "you didnt asked to clean the bed". On asking again, they cleaned the bed. Soap and other basic things were not provided. Water problem was there in the bathroom as when we put On the tap the flow of water was very low. Rent is less as compare to other hotels on Mall road in peak season (but that too was much). You can stay in this hotel with some other deluxe room which is comparatively bigger than semi-deluxe room.... More

  1. Guest must be over 18 years of age to check-in to this hotel.
  2. As per Government regulations, it is mandatory for all guests above 18 years of age to carry a valid photo identity card & address proof at the time of check-in. Please note that failure to abide by this can result with the hotel denying a check-in. Hotels normally do not provide any refund for such cancellations.
  3. The standard check-in and check-out times are 12 noon. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to hotel availability and may also be chargeable by the hotel. Any early check-in or late check-out request must be directed to and reconfirmed with the hotel directly.
  4. Failure to check-in to the hotel, will attract the full cost of stay or penalty as per the hotel cancellation policy.
  5. Hotels charge a compulsory Gala Dinner Supplement during Christmas, New Year's eve or other special events and festivals like Diwali or Dusshera. These additional charge are not included in the booking amount and will be collected directly at the hotel.
  6. There might be seasonal variation in hotel tariff rates during Peak days, for example URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the room tariff differences if any will have to be borne and paid by the customer directly at the hotel, if the booking stay period falls during such dates.
  7. All additional charges other than the room charges and inclusions as mentioned in the booking voucher are to be borne and paid separately during check-out. Please make sure that you are aware of all such charges that may comes as extras. Some of them can be WiFi costs, Mini Bar, Laundry Expenses, Telephone calls, Room Service, Snacks etc.
  8. Some hotels may have policies that do not allow unmarried / unrelated couples or certain foreign nationalities to check-in without the correct documentation. No refund will be applicable in case the hotel denies check-in under such circumstances. If you have any doubts on this, do call us for any assistance
  9. Any changes or booking modifications are subject to availability and charges may apply as per the hotel policies.
Booking Policies

  6. The total price is inclusive of all applicable taxes. However, it does not include additional personal expenses like telephone charges, meals that aren't a part of your meal plan, any hotel services you use (like laundry and room service) or tips.The hotel will charge you directly for these when you're checking out.
  7. Hotels may charge a mandatory meal surcharge on festive periods e.g. Christmas, New Year's Eve etc. All additional charges (including mandatory meal surcharges) need to be cleared directly at the hotel.
  8. Some hotels may require guest(s) to furnish a valid photographic proof of identity in original at the time of Check-in. Kindly carry the same along with you to avoid any inconvenience. The following documents are recognized for this purpose: Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, Passport or Election Card.
  9. Note PAN Cards will not be accepted as a valid ID card.
  10. All refund requests must occur within 60 days of hotel check-out. Any refund for checking out early or for no shows will be given at the sole discretion of goomo.com.
  11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
  12. Goomo acts purely as an agent to hotels/suppliers, hence Goomo shall not be responsible for issuance of any invoices on hotel room charges.
