Crap - Taking bookings even though its closed for renovation
on Feb 6, 2018
BIG ZERO STAR to this hotel. Even after booking the hotel and the hotel reservation being confirmed I was surprised to see on reaching the hotel that its closed for renovation. No intimation by email or phone ahead of time so that I can make alternate arrangement. Even booking website was not aware of the hotel closure for renovation and there was no intimation to me from them also.
I was stranded and had to make a few calls to booking website support to get some resolution. Final resolution given after a few calls and year long hold on phone was
1] Give them another 1 hour to arrange for alternate accommodation
2] Book another hotel and they will reimburse a certain amount out of new booking
Overall this was worst ever experience as you need a hotel room at the time you reach after a tiring travel of 15+ hours, and instead you are stranded and have to make calls to get resolution (even when you don't have any energy left). Wasted more than 1.5 hours on staircase outside the hotel.
Finally I booked another hotel and am awaiting
1] Refund of my initial booking amount paid for this hotel
2] Amount as promised by booking website as reimbursement for new hotel booking done on my own.

Rajkamal Hotel is pretty good for a budget hotel. The room is neat & clean & well maintained. It is just a 15 minutes away (in auto) from Ahmadabad railway station..Hotel location was good. Service from staff was very helpful.

SHORT AND SWEET HOTEL IN AHMEDABAD
on Feb 8, 2017
Long time back, I had visited City of Ahmadabad. The purpose was a company audit. One of our client company had a branch in Ahmadabad. The head office was in Mumbai. So, every quarter, we had to perform the branch audit. For that we had to visit Ahmadabad every quarter.
I had visited Ahmadabad 6 times.
Most of the times, my stay was in hotel Rajkamal which is on Ashram road just after Nehru bridge.
It is a very convenient location in Ahmadabad.
It is just a 15 minutes away (in auto) from Ahmadabad railway station.
You have many places nearby, like, Law Garden, Shiv cinema hall, Gandhi gram rail station etc.
There are many restaurants near this area and you get "GUJARATI THAALI", UNLIMITED !!!
I can not forget the visit to this city.
The hotel is pretty comfortable.
Good rooms of a shabby looking hotel
on Mar 31, 2010
I went to Ahmedabad for 2 days. Since I did not know any hotels in Ahmedabad, I took an auto rickshaw who took me to Hotel Rajkamal. From the exterior, the place looks absolutely shabby. However, as you enter the hotel room, you find it is pretty good for a budget hotel. The room is neat & clean & well maintained. There is no restaurant or parking place in the hotel. However, for a low expenses trip, I would recommend any traveller to Ahmedabad to check this hotel out before parking in elsewhere.
It is also not too far from the railway station. Have a look at it before you select an expensive hotel.
