What an amazing place!
on Aug 1, 2019
This hostel/hotel is a hidden gem. It's in Old Manali about a 5 minute walk off the main road and beautifully set in lovely orchards. It isn't huge but has everything you could want including a party space with loads of games and a hammock. The host Varun is simply amazing. He runs the place brilliantly with personal attention to every guest. Party time is at night and wonderful opportunity to mix with guests and people simply turning up for drinks and/or food. I have just spent over two weeks there and loved it. Couldn't recommend Orchards House more.
Paradise in the orchards
on Jul 27, 2019
I first visited orchard house back in April and have returned many times since. The house is nestled amongst the peaceful orchards with incredible views of surrounding mountains and waterfalls. The garden is beautifully decorated with flowers along side the common area that is frequently packed with travellers. The house attracts interesting and friendly explorers from all over the world, creating an ambience and a vibe that is difficult to leave.
Both the dorms and private rooms are very clean and super spacious. The hot showers and the comfy beds are great for getting warm and cosey on those chilly Manali nights. Each floor and many of the rooms boast a balcony where guests can sit and enjoy the incredible mountain views.
The hostel is a short 5/10 minute walk up to the main road with many shops and resturants, equally it is a 5/10 minutw walk down the hill to the river with more shops and resturants. The house itself is cusioned away amongst the villagers allowing for a peaceful and authentic experience.
Varun the owner always greets you with a smile and his optimistic and fun personality instantly makes you feel welcome. He is more than keen to help you with any questions you may have.
I am sad to leave, however I am looking forward to returning on my next trip to India as Orchard house holds a special place in my heart. Varun has created a home away from home for any traveller.
BEST HOSTEL IN INDIA
on Jul 27, 2019
Where do I begin? Basically I've stayed at this hostel 3 times during my 2 months in India. It really feels like a home away from home. The staff will do everything they can to make your experience as comfortable and magical as possible. Varun is so amazing - he always made sure there were beds for us before we came and helped us out with anything we needed, so I know we'll be friends forever. The views are phenomenal, the beds are super comfy, the vibes are bloody fantastic, bathrooms are really clean, common area is awesome, kitchen is lovely with a good menu.. Need I say more? The last time I stayed I had the most perfect double ensuite room and they provided soap, toilet roll and towels. It was such a dream. My Manali adventure wouldn't have been the same without The Hidden Tribe. See you all soon!
Safe and Chill Zone
on Jul 27, 2019
Located in the midst of old manali and apple orchards, you wake up to an unobstructed view of the mountains and valley. Dorm Rooms are spacious and clean with hot water. Host was nice and makes the hostel a safe zone at all times. Sitting area always has someone sitting around to have a conversation or to play gamed with. Do follow Varun's recommendations on day hikes and cafes around manali!
Good food. Awesome People. Great Stay.

If you want a place in Manali to lay down and chill, this is the best place to be.
We initially planned to stay only for a day but then we fell in love with the place and extended our stay for two more days.
They have budget rooms as well as deluxe rooms. Budget rooms are clean and cozy. Deluxe rooms are totally worth the charge. We stayed in two different rooms. One had a private balcony attached and the other one was spacious, full of natural sunlight.
If you are feeling lazy enough to not go out to eat, they have it sorted. They have an in-house restaurant serving from tea to meals. Food is good if not awesome. They are plain and simple yet tasty.
Last but not the least, if you want to have a good chat, go and find the owner of The Hidden Tribe, Varun. He has some good stories in his bag.
