    Kolkata Sold-out - Hotel Niharika

    As one would be able to make out from the title of my review, I happened to select Hotel Niharika (from 1st to 3rd of Dec) as all the Star Properties of Kolkata was completely sold out.. Having desperately searched various properties of repute / brand, I settled for Hotel Niharika - again based on Ratings of Booking .com (4.2 out of 5)... Let me admit, I booked the hotel with a little bit of anxiety, as I wasn't sure what would be the outcome and experience... My two-bits are ; - The hotel has great location - The tariff rates are quite reasonable - Most of the staff (especially Geetashree , Subhendu Chatterjee, Bhola etc) are very cordial and warm, however many other though polite, need training for 'service with warmth and smile' - The cleanliness is satisfactory The management is doing a good job, and can focus on the following for further augmenting their brand and repeat customers; - Bed Linen & Bathroom towels though clean (repeat they were clean) can be made to look cleaner. - The Room Refrigerator can be stocked with better quality eats rather than Bhujia and sev / chanachur - The customers (especially occupying rooms with the banquet services) can be sensitised on accommodating the comfort and peace of neighbouring customers (this is only in the event of rooms being let to banquet guests) - The restaurant service can be improved with the quality of food and service. All in all - I would rate my stay satisfactory and incase of emergency would love to fall back on this hotel.. Thumbs up from Roys... More

    Looks like a nice place but has basic hygiene issues

    The hotel looks good when you first walk in, but once you start setting in room you find dust. Linen both bath and bed were dirty. The shower curtain smelled of mould. Not recommended if you are looking for a clean place. The restraunt breakfast was ok and wifi connectivity was good, but all this comes secondary to basic cleanliness and maintenance of rooms....     for some official purpose I visit Kolkata and booked this hotel. Really awesome service, from reception entry to food, room service. Staff is very polite, wifi service also good.     Was travelling to Kolkata as a transit to another place. Arrived late night. The staff were very accommodating and courteous. Rooms were clean. I liked the sufficient bathroom amenities. Breakfast was good. The spread was limited but not bad. Restaurant ambiance could have been better. Overall I would give full marks on service. Location is also good.... More

Overview

Hotel Niharika, a budget hotel in Kolkata is located three kilometers away from Sealdah railway station. This five floored hotel boasts of 39 modishly furnished rooms.   1. Guest must be over 18 years of age to check-in to this hotel.
  2. As per Government regulations, it is mandatory for all guests above 18 years of age to carry a valid photo identity card & address proof at the time of check-in. Please note that failure to abide by this can result with the hotel denying a check-in. Hotels normally do not provide any refund for such cancellations.
  3. The standard check-in and check-out times are 12 noon. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to hotel availability and may also be chargeable by the hotel. Any early check-in or late check-out request must be directed to and reconfirmed with the hotel directly.
  4. Failure to check-in to the hotel, will attract the full cost of stay or penalty as per the hotel cancellation policy.
  5. Hotels charge a compulsory Gala Dinner Supplement during Christmas, New Year's eve or other special events and festivals like Diwali or Dusshera. These additional charge are not included in the booking amount and will be collected directly at the hotel.
  6. There might be seasonal variation in hotel tariff rates during Peak days, for example URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the room tariff differences if any will have to be borne and paid by the customer directly at the hotel, if the booking stay period falls during such dates.
  7. All additional charges other than the room charges and inclusions as mentioned in the booking voucher are to be borne and paid separately during check-out. Please make sure that you are aware of all such charges that may comes as extras. Some of them can be WiFi costs, Mini Bar, Laundry Expenses, Telephone calls, Room Service, Snacks etc.
  8. Some hotels may have policies that do not allow unmarried / unrelated couples or certain foreign nationalities to check-in without the correct documentation. No refund will be applicable in case the hotel denies check-in under such circumstances. If you have any doubts on this, do call us for any assistance

  9. Note PAN Cards will not be accepted as a valid ID card.
  10. All refund requests must occur within 60 days of hotel check-out. Any refund for checking out early or for no shows will be given at the sole discretion of goomo.com.
  11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
  12. Goomo acts purely as an agent to hotels/suppliers, hence Goomo shall not be responsible for issuance of any invoices on hotel room charges.
