Best place to stay in Udaipur
on Nov 27, 2017
I loved staying at Nayee Haveli. First, the location is incredible... a beautiful lake view and the lakeside rooms have window seats where you can sit and just admire lake pichola. It's also situated on a quiet street so you are far away from the traffic noise but still very central and you can walk anywhere.
The rooms are clean and comfortable and, as previously mentioned, the lakeside rooms have an amazing view.
The owner, Rahil, is one the kindest and best people you will meet in India and he will go out of his way to make your stay comfortable.
There is also a great restaurant here - definitely worth a visit, the chicken tikka is divine (as was everything else I ate here). The sunset view from the restaurant is spectacular.
I have been to Udaipur three times and I always have stayed at Nayee Haveli and I highly recommend it.

Ok so when we walked into the room we were blown away by the view which is amazing however that is the only thing this Filthy place has going for it.
However 1st things first.
Picture 1: the bed is only 5' long so if you are taller than this your feet will hang over the end of the bed.
Picture 2: no curtain on this window at all so if you can't sleep in a light room then this is not for you.
Picture 3: we asked straight away about the non working TV and were told it would be fixed the next day, it was never fixed so we paid extra for a broken TV.
The staff seem incapable of making a decision without telephoning the boss this even includes a new toilet roll for the room.
Noise from the outside is pretty bad but this is india so I can forgive the temple bells and beeping horn, the staff yelling down 3 floors and making a racket in the hallway at midnight I can not forgive.
FILTHY UNCHANGED SHEETS.
Settling down for our third and final night my girlfriend pointed out some stains on the bedding and stated that she didn't think that the sheets had been changed having a look myself I was in agreement so I took some photos of the sheets to use for this review.
Picture 4: suspect stain
Picture 5&6: holes in the sheet
We left our bags in storage at the guesthouse for the day and when we returned later I was able to sneak into the "freshly cleaned room" and take the following photos.
Picture 7: same under sheet
Picture 8&9: same suspect stain as in earlier photo
Picture 10: same holes.
THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING DO NOT STAY HERE.

The Most Wonderful Place

My experience at Hotel Nayee Haveli was nothing short of amazing. We had a wonderful visit. I could not believe how helpful the staff was and how good the views of the lake were from the hotel. So romantic. The owner, Rahil, treated my boyfriend and I like family. He ended up taking us to his favorite restaurant, showing us how to eat like a local, and he would not even let us pay for the meal! Rahil is such an honest, kind, and accommodating man. This was, by far, my favorite place I stayed in India during a 3 month trip in this beautiful country. And it was my favorite because of the customer service. I loved it and I hope to be back soon! :)
Perfect budget choice in great location with Great Lake views

Great choice by the lake in the centre of everything- perfect for solo travellers, friendly and welcoming. Nice room with windows over the terrace and lake, and nice new bathroom. Rahil is a friendly host and takes time for a chat. Will definitely return.
