Its located on the main road. For an overnight stay or if one is on a tight budget, its fine. Though transportation is available, may not be ideal location to stay if someone has work in the City. If beach alone is the interest the place is fine. Food though may not be great, can be managed for a couple of days without any problem. The people running the place are good.
A simple, service apartment styled hotel that lacks lustre
on Sep 24, 2016
The hotel is very average with some off-putting reception, a not-so happening lobby and an awkwardly placed interior design. The rooms are comfortable and food quality is moderate. Staff is impolite at times and the local language barrier becomes very irritating at numerous occasions. The staff noise is loud while they walk across the lobby or stand next to your room to talk over phone or to each other. There is no food outlet or market nearby so beware before you step into this one.
Cheapest rooms are noisy but decent and safe. Single travelling female.

Where in India can you get a single non AC room with free WiFi and TV (with cable and hindi channels :D ) in just Rs 500? That too in an expensive city like Chennai. I visited this place 2 times. The first time, room was very clean but the second time, my blanket was unwashed. Except for that, the bathroom and everything else was clean. The room has a big air hole near the roof, which makes it noisy during the morning hours(4 am to 8 am). It is walkable from the Marina beach. And it is amidst a busy market area and easily reachable by bus or auto. The reception is open 24 hours and follows 24 hour check out (if you check in at 8 am, you will have to check out the other day before 8 am to avoid 2nd day charges). There is some mosquito problem also which can be solved by coil or repellants. I cannot comment about AC rooms. While I was here, many families checked in, so it is family safe. Hotel has a good number of well mannered staff.

Affordable Comfort without Frills

I stayed at Marina Park/Marina Residency in Oct this year for three days in the AC Room as a single occupant. The Hotel is small and compact, but the rooms, though compact, are comfortable for a short stay. The restaurant down below has a separate AC section for discerning customers and food is good and affordably priced. The servings per dish are generous too. The bus-stop just outside in Pattinampakkam affords great connectivity options and there are supermarkets and a KFC outlet just a stone's throw away. The only drawback, if I may put it, is that they do not accept payments by Credit/Debit card and for those who need a CST/TIN number on the bill, this would not be a recommended place. Otherwise it is recommended for a short stay, especially since it is within walking distance of the Marina Beach.
