    I associate rating to price charged. Thus, I would expect comforts, commensurate with my cash outflow on the property. Pros ------ 1) Centrally located, close to Kalighat Metro. 2) Reasonably priced. 3) Staff cordial & pleasant. 4) Clean ensuite. Cons ------ 1) Parking lot is an apology 2) No lift in the building 3) Emergency stair case, dumped with dis used furniture. 4) Restaurant items are heavily priced for a budget hotel.     Horrible place - avoid if you can

    I am surprised at the rating of 3 star and "very good" given for this hotel by some traveller. I do travel extensively in India and abroad and it is one of the worst places I stayed. The hotel is in a very old building, probably at least 50 years old. Reception area is just big enough for 2 people to stand. We got room on the 3 floor and we had to climb very steep stairs to get to our room as there is no elevator. The room and bathroom was clean - the only positive feature of the place. Room opened onto a balcony where they dumped some construction material - not a pleasant sight. There is no working phone in our room to call the reception/room service. When we checked in the afternoon, the window a/c in the room was working. However when we returned at 11pm in the night, the AC conked out. We were told that they will shift us to another room in the morning, so we had to spent uncomfortable night without AC. Next morning they showed us a room which was probably locked up for several months. There was pigeon droppings all over the place which we obviously declined. Finally in the afternoon they gave us a room which had AC working and no pigeons - it only had mould growing on one of the walls. Also came across a german cockroach in the 3rd floor. My guess is you will find lot more in the restaurant on the ground floor. I would rate the hotel 1 star or 1.5 star at the best.... More

    The hotel is located near metro station. The rooms are decent and spacious. Plenty of food options nearby. Parking could be a problem. The hotel is near Kalighat temple. Staff is helpful. Enjoyed a pleasant stay.... More

    From Idly to Dosa, the Idly melts in your mouth, piping hot cake that ideally does not need any accompaniment. Dosa is golden crisp as ever. Perfect Rice Meals with Rasam and not to be missed the dried curd chillies and special sambhar that accompanies. Dancing Filter Coffee not to be missed.... More

    Worst place to stay

    Unfortunately I happened to stay in this hotel with my family. Not to forget the company of bed bugs, cockroaches and insects I don't know the names of in the room, bathroom, bed and cupboards. The basic requirement of clean drinking water was very risky to use because the tap and the basin was full of insects and the jar and glasses in the room had interesting alcoholic smell and red stains of tobacco. To top this experience was the pathetic, disappointing and highly discourteous behavior of oyo representatives. During my stay I repeatedly called the hotel guys and oyo people to talk to the hotel owner to look into the issue, I hope they are still discussing it. Alas, our dreadful stay came to an end but the cherry on the cake was no invoice/receipt and extra charges for bottled water. We completed our stay 2 weeks back and as promised by the oyo representative still waiting for a resolution that was to be provided as the TAT for an issue is 24 hours. Hoping that "oyo timezone 24 hours" will get over and I will hear from them. Cheers!... More

Hotel Homely Raj is a well-furnished budget hotel offering the best of accommodation at a pocket friendly rate. They have an in house-food joint called Raj Restaurant which is famous in Kolkata for its authentic South Indian cuisine. Every meal is exceptionally right from breakfast and lunch to tea and dinner. Thali, is a speciality and delicacies like North Indian Chaats are also well-prepared at this hotel. Inviting home cooked food offers a mix of traditional and modern ingredients and flavours. The hotel offers a vault at the reception, direct dialing from room, laundry services, 12 hours of room service, morning news paper, cars on hire and travel related services.


Check in Check out

Hotel Check-in Time is 12 PM, Check-out Time is 12 PM.

  1. Guest must be over 18 years of age to check-in to this hotel.
  2. As per Government regulations, it is mandatory for all guests above 18 years of age to carry a valid photo identity card & address proof at the time of check-in. Please note that failure to abide by this can result with the hotel denying a check-in. Hotels normally do not provide any refund for such cancellations.
  3. The standard check-in and check-out times are 12 noon. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to hotel availability and may also be chargeable by the hotel. Any early check-in or late check-out request must be directed to and reconfirmed with the hotel directly.
  4. Failure to check-in to the hotel, will attract the full cost of stay or penalty as per the hotel cancellation policy.
  5. Hotels charge a compulsory Gala Dinner Supplement during Christmas, New Year's eve or other special events and festivals like Diwali or Dusshera. These additional charge are not included in the booking amount and will be collected directly at the hotel.
  6. There might be seasonal variation in hotel tariff rates during Peak days, for example URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the room tariff differences if any will have to be borne and paid by the customer directly at the hotel, if the booking stay period falls during such dates.
  7. All additional charges other than the room charges and inclusions as mentioned in the booking voucher are to be borne and paid separately during check-out. Please make sure that you are aware of all such charges that may comes as extras. Some of them can be WiFi costs, Mini Bar, Laundry Expenses, Telephone calls, Room Service, Snacks etc.
  8. Some hotels may have policies that do not allow unmarried / unrelated couples or certain foreign nationalities to check-in without the correct documentation. No refund will be applicable in case the hotel denies check-in under such circumstances. If you have any doubts on this, do call us for any assistance
  9. Any changes or booking modifications are subject to availability and charges may apply as per the hotel policies.
Booking Policies

  8. Some hotels may require guest(s) to furnish a valid photographic proof of identity in original at the time of Check-in. Kindly carry the same along with you to avoid any inconvenience. The following documents are recognized for this purpose: Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, Passport or Election Card.
  9. Note PAN Cards will not be accepted as a valid ID card.
  10. All refund requests must occur within 60 days of hotel check-out. Any refund for checking out early or for no shows will be given at the sole discretion of goomo.com.
  11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
  12. Goomo acts purely as an agent to hotels/suppliers, hence Goomo shall not be responsible for issuance of any invoices on hotel room charges.
