    The hotel is situated on the main road to Rampur it has a very good facility for parking which is rear in Shimla rooms are good but the washrooms need some cleaning work the pipes are leaked if all is fixed than a very good option to stay food is awesome little bit on expensive side can be recommended surely with the repairing work done....     Decent accommodation a little away from Mall road

    Let me start by saying that I find that hotels in Shimla are extremely over-priced, especially during tourist season. Even a very modest accommodation far from the town centre could cost a bomb. Weekends are also expensive since Shimla is within driving distance of Chandigarh and Delhi, so the flocks descend on weekends too. One ought to bear this in mind while looking to book a stay in Shimla. I travel to Shimla every few months on work and I prefer staying at Himland East because is it within walking distance of some of the offices I visit for my work. Reservation: Reservations to Himland East can be done over phone or by writing an email to them. I have been going here for the last 5 years now and found them pretty responsive. Remember to ask for the 20% off-season discount if you are travelling when it is not vacation season. I have noticed that you can also get the rooms cheap on some travel portals now. Check all options before you make up your mind. Service: The hotel staff are good and generally help you with most requests that you may have. If you reach Shimla by the overnight Volvo from Delhi, you're likely to reach Shimla by 5.30 a.m. Himland (and most other hotels) have a Check-In at noon, so that becomes a concern. Usually the staff have allotted me a room by 7.00 a.m. but this depends on room availability. Room: The rooms are clean and just sufficient for twin-sharing. They do have an electric heater during winter. The bathroom was also clean, with running hot water. Food: The restaurant is good and you can order standard North Indian fare which is well prepared. The restaurant of the adjoining Himland West hotel is equally good. Activities: The hotel is close to Talland. You can actually walk to Mall road, which is about 2 km from here. The walk to Mall road is uphill, so you can consider walking back if walking uphill is difficult. You can also hail one of the local buses that go to the lift (to Mall road) easily by walking about 50 m outside the hotel. Overall: The hotel is descent and suits my requirement for work. As a tourist, this could be a place to consider since it is not very far from Mall road. They also have limited parking (the biggest pain in Shimla) which is a big advantage. If you intend to spend most time on Mall road, then this is a good option because places on Mall road are equally pricey and may require you to walk up beyond a point since they are in the 'no-car' zone....     A fair hotel in Shimla checked in winters of the year....Rooms were so so and had no central heating...Room heaters were provided but ineffective...Wash rooms were not clean and the rooms had a pungent smell, inspite of spraying room freshners, was bad,, Restaurant/dining available and food quality was OK,...   4. Failure to check-in to the hotel, will attract the full cost of stay or penalty as per the hotel cancellation policy.
  5. Hotels charge a compulsory Gala Dinner Supplement during Christmas, New Year's eve or other special events and festivals like Diwali or Dusshera. These additional charge are not included in the booking amount and will be collected directly at the hotel.
  6. There might be seasonal variation in hotel tariff rates during Peak days, for example URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the room tariff differences if any will have to be borne and paid by the customer directly at the hotel, if the booking stay period falls during such dates.
  7. All additional charges other than the room charges and inclusions as mentioned in the booking voucher are to be borne and paid separately during check-out. Please make sure that you are aware of all such charges that may comes as extras. Some of them can be WiFi costs, Mini Bar, Laundry Expenses, Telephone calls, Room Service, Snacks etc.
  8. Some hotels may have policies that do not allow unmarried / unrelated couples or certain foreign nationalities to check-in without the correct documentation.   11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
