    Superb weekend stay at the Himalayan Chalet. Can’t recommend this place highly enough - the accommodation was not only very classy and homely but also spotless clean. The fireplace creates a very nice atmosphere. The Mall road is a short drive / taxi ride and this place is a great spot for visiting for the weekend. The caretaker Mr. Gulab Singh was on hand for everything we needed and we need much as we were with our seven month old daughter. They allowed us an early check in; travelling with an infant has its own perks. The only downside was that we were not able to see snowfall in spite of extending our stay by two days. Would definitely recommend and will likely be return guests ourselves and hope to see snowfall.... More

    There was NO wifi for all 4 days We were asked to use a certain wifi which had terrible signal. After a lot of questions to the caretaker we got to know that it was the neighbouring bunglow’s wifi! No hot water for 3 out of 4 days By 11 am, which is when the sun shines and you can gather some guts to take a shower in -7 degrees temperature, we were told that the hot water was over because it was used ‘here and there’ for kitchen purpose No concept of Hot water bag In a hill station, which is snow covered, they did not have a basic facility of Hot water bags, which even a boutique hotel provides. No Heaters They gave us blowers for heaters and charged us Rs 400 per 8 hours/per room Which is ideally supposed to be a basic amenity in a hilly snowy region. Drunk employees The last night, we were all sitting in the common area playing cards. Some of the employees came and sat down next to us and were pissed drunk. As girls, we were extremely uncomfortable, and had to leave immediately. Smelly bathroom The bathroom on the 1st floor, room no 101, constantly smelled like there was a dead mouse in it. The employees and the owners (2 sisters) were all just playing around with us. The employees would constantly bicker about the owners. To the extent that on the day of check out when we wanted to share our grievances, the owners were available at the property(as confirmed by the caretaker) but kept lying that they are not around. When we tried to speak to the owner over the phone, she refused to accept any of these issues and constantly tried to prove that we were lying! Even when we told her that her employees were drunk, her reply was that ‘it’s our problem, not the guest’s problem’ Infact after we checked out we kept getting threatening calls from the staff because we had complained regarding their alcohol issues to the owner. Manali has a lot of beautiful places. No doubt this place was beautiful too. But I would never suggest this property to anyone ever! Because you go on holidays to relax and unwind, not to get grilled with all this nonsensical drama!... More

    An amazing stay

    I booked the right wing of the house. This wing has a dining room, a large family room with sofas and a fire place, and two rooms which open to a common balcony. The rooms are exactly as shown in the photos which are provided by the host Ms Sumann. They are huge and are comparable in their size and decor to any five star property. The rooms have a king size bed and sofas which face a huge window overlooking the hills. The house is located 9 minutes from the mall road parking. While booking , the host was very friendly and answered all my queries and since I was travelling with an infant also allowed me access to the kitchen. The caretaker of the house, Mr Anil is also extremely friendly and will go the extra mile to ensure that the stay is comfortable. He is also an excellent cook. The in-house kitchen caters for a limited but adequate menu which can be ordered at a very reasonable price. Kudos to Ms Sumann and her team. Will definitely reccommend the place to all. ... More

    This hotel is worth for money. Amazing hotel with wonderful staff.. this hotel is just a perfect place to stay in manali. I had a trip of three days i like the hotel and location more than manali.. room are big & view from the room are unbelievable. Food taste was up to the mark. It was totally a homely feeling to stay in this hotel.. i will definitely stay at the same place for my future visit.. must stay.. ... More

    A palatial cottage!

    Everything was as promised by the host. The rooms were big and comfortable. My favorite place was the balcony, perfect to sit and enjoy the view of Manali valley. We greatly enjoyed the location and surrounding areas. Their is a waterfall which is about 7 minutes walk from the cottage. The food was delicious.... More

Policies
  1. Guest must be over 18 years of age to check-in to this hotel.
  2. As per Government regulations, it is mandatory for all guests above 18 years of age to carry a valid photo identity card & address proof at the time of check-in. Please note that failure to abide by this can result with the hotel denying a check-in. Hotels normally do not provide any refund for such cancellations.
  3. The standard check-in and check-out times are 12 noon. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to hotel availability and may also be chargeable by the hotel. Any early check-in or late check-out request must be directed to and reconfirmed with the hotel directly.
  4. Failure to check-in to the hotel, will attract the full cost of stay or penalty as per the hotel cancellation policy.
  5. Hotels charge a compulsory Gala Dinner Supplement during Christmas, New Year's eve or other special events and festivals like Diwali or Dusshera. These additional charge are not included in the booking amount and will be collected directly at the hotel.
  6. There might be seasonal variation in hotel tariff rates during Peak days, for example URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the room tariff differences if any will have to be borne and paid by the customer directly at the hotel, if the booking stay period falls during such dates.
  7. All additional charges other than the room charges and inclusions as mentioned in the booking voucher are to be borne and paid separately during check-out. Please make sure that you are aware of all such charges that may comes as extras. Some of them can be WiFi costs, Mini Bar, Laundry Expenses, Telephone calls, Room Service, Snacks etc.
  8. Some hotels may have policies that do not allow unmarried / unrelated couples or certain foreign nationalities to check-in without the correct documentation. No refund will be applicable in case the hotel denies check-in under such circumstances. If you have any doubts on this, do call us for any assistance
  9. Any changes or booking modifications are subject to availability and charges may apply as per the hotel policies.

  6. The total price is inclusive of all applicable taxes. However, it does not include additional personal expenses like telephone charges, meals that aren't a part of your meal plan, any hotel services you use (like laundry and room service) or tips.The hotel will charge you directly for these when you're checking out.
  7. Hotels may charge a mandatory meal surcharge on festive periods e.g. Christmas, New Year's Eve etc. All additional charges (including mandatory meal surcharges) need to be cleared directly at the hotel.
  8. Some hotels may require guest(s) to furnish a valid photographic proof of identity in original at the time of Check-in. Kindly carry the same along with you to avoid any inconvenience. The following documents are recognized for this purpose: Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, Passport or Election Card.
  9. Note PAN Cards will not be accepted as a valid ID card.
  10. All refund requests must occur within 60 days of hotel check-out. Any refund for checking out early or for no shows will be given at the sole discretion of goomo.com.
  11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
  12. Goomo acts purely as an agent to hotels/suppliers, hence Goomo shall not be responsible for issuance of any invoices on hotel room charges.
