A Peaceful Oasis At the Foot of Mt. Etna- The Ideal Wedding Location
on Oct 17, 2019
Alberto and Co. are doing an excellent job at Bosco Ciancio and I cannot wait to return. The rooms are spacious, tastefully designed and impeccably clean. Perhaps the showers could be modernised, but that is the only downside I can find.
The breakfast was delicious and varied. The homemade jams and cakes were a particular winner! I would personally liked to have seen more local products like pistachio spread or fresher fruit, but that is my taste.
The staff were beyond kind and professional, and they were willing to go above and beyond to ensure guests a pleasant stay.
The common areas offer the chance to relax and enjoy the local surroundings. From the swimming pool (which I hope may become heated!) to the lounge area, everything has been well thought-out to offer guests a place to unwind. The mini library was also a nice touch!
Next year there is talk of selling local products, from artisans and food producers alike, and I think that is a great idea!
The lovely and well-behaved dogs are an excellent addition to the hotel.
Get a rest in the woods of Mt. Etna

The location, the settings, the food and the staff will make tour stay enjoyable. Quite close to the Rifugio Sapienza, certainly a very good choice for your days or even just one night on Etna. Staying there means you don’t have to descend all the way, can enjoy reasonable temperatures in summer and especially a quiet night.
Even in early October they served fresh O-juice (not irange season in Scily yet): kudos!
Some rooms have rather small windows and no particular view.
If you can’t live w/o hi-speed internet connection, this is a place where you definitely wouldn’t spend weeks 😉: but it’s a great way to get off the hook at least for 24 h. The few friendly dogs are part of the family, but if you don’t like 4-legged friends this might be a reason to choose another place.
Relaxing and quiet place

It is a beautiful rural place. Very quiet and peaceful. Hosts were very nice and accommodating. The dinner was very good and the breakfast was great. Having a car is necessary. There are lovely short walks in the forest. I will definitely recommend it.
A lovely hotel, reasonably priced.

Bosco Ciancio is a relaxed and informal hotel on the foothills of Etna with a lovely pool, good restaurant and great wine list. The staff are very helpful and attentive. I would definitely visit again.

We have stayed 2 nights at Bosco Ciancio upon our arrival in Sicily. The location is nice and quiet, not far from the departure for the Etna visit. Overall Bosco Ciancio offers a good level of comfort: nice pool, nice breakfast and dinner terrace. Rooms are also nice, even though a little dark. We would have enjoyed it fully, but there was really a lack of attention to guests from the staff - they were most of the time sitting on the terrace playing cards and this did not seem so professional to us. This is not reflected in the past evaluation of other guests. Maybe just a bad timing (?). This is not at the level expended.
