Stay at Highnest Bed & Breakfast
on Aug 7, 2017
I have been to Highnest B&B several times. I really love the way they have tastefully done up the entire place. Staff here is really warm and courteous and have always gone an extra mile in providing required services. I being from Mumbai find it tough sometimes to converse in the local language outside this hotel. Inside, however, they have staff that speaks fluent Hindi & English which helps them understand what I actually need.
Its located just next to Ford's factory and is very much accessible to all the ancillaries in vicinity. Other clusters such as Oragadam, Mahindra World City & Sriperumbudur aren't too far too.
The food is good and this place has a good Wi-Fi connection too!
Not a "value for money" hotel

The room that was allotted was very gloomy. The breakfast (free/included) was a makeshift breakfast. Not too many options. The staircases are very narrow. Even the staffs are of good nature but not properly groomed.
Very comfortable stay

I had a quick and comfortable stay at Highnest. I was completely satisfied with the service, food, staff and amenities of the place. The place is decently made with thoughtfulness and tries to take care of its customers. Highly recommended.

I had booked the hotel for two for a quick stay in Chennai. I came across this hotel through my friends who reside in the same area. I had booked the hotel online and wanted to make an online payment for the same. The manager was very accommodating and accepted the request as usually it's not available if you have booked the room from another portal than their website. The service was good and it was a quiet hotel.
More of a lodge than a Hotel, lot of scope for improvement
on May 19, 2017
This is more of a individual run show than a professional set-up. It is misleading to call it a Hotel. Instead, it should be called a Lodge. The so-called managers (one person called Surya and another called James) looked more like waiters than managers !
Also, the room was a bit crowded and there were some items which were more decorative than useful. There was a decorative stool which broke when something was kept on it and Surya told me that it is only a decorative piece. When the room itself has very little space, what is the point of keeping decorative articles instead of the actual things?
The a/c in the room was not working as it should, In spite of setting the temp. at 18, it looked more like 25.
Also, Surya had informed me that the breakfast would be ready by 7 a.m. When I went there past 7.30, not even the table was set. There were a few people who kept nodding their head at everything that was asked of them, only to say later that it was not available (I asked for bread to which they nodded, and later said that they didn't have it.)
The rooms were clean and usable. That's the only good thing which can be said about this hotel.
