Enjoyed family trip at Manali with Harmony
on Dec 13, 2013
Wow! That is what me and my family exclaimed when we visited Manali recently. Verdant fields stretching into snow- capped Himalayan peaks, shining off pure silver in the rising sun…
Oh! What a perfect sight of nature’s beauty my camera captured. But it is true that we won’t have experienced the scenic beauty had we not stayed in Harmony hotel, located at Rangari,200 metres from the national highway. Our room opened into a cosy balcony. The perch from where we had a tryst with the rising sun in Manali. Hamta Pass straight, on the left Rohtang Pass and you have a range of mysterious peaks, inviting you to visit them at least once. But that requires a number of repeat visits! Hamta pass has the historical Pandu Ropa.
In fact, we were privileged to have got accommodation in the hotel, which, I think is the right place to stay as it offers you a panoramic view of the Switzerland of India.
I wonder why people visit Mauritius, Malaysia or even Jammu and Kashmir when you have the Indian snow city, Manali, just 582 km run from New Delhi.
Our next visit to the city will be by road. That will give us an opportunity to enjoy the green, tree lined terrain along the roadside. Besides, the highway leads straight to Harmony hotel where staying is a double fun– enjoy warm hospitality, 12- hour coffee service, one- bell room service and spacious rooms offering a refreshing sleep after a sun bask, oil massage and a bath. Just step out of the lobby and you have glimpses of Apple tree orchards after a green patch. Just inform the hotel manager and he will arrange bonfire for you in the night, which is refreshingly colder. In fact, we will do it next time. Reason, this time four or five bonfire parties were already planned there and we would have to stay for another two days to enjoy the bonfire bash. But office calls spoiled our plan for an extended stay. In fact, the hotel has to be informed about your stay extension as bookings are back to back. A miss would mean you will have to check out as per the booking schedule and find accommodation somewhere else and that means no scenic privilege.
Major places to visit.
Arjun Gufa 4 km
Hidimba Devi temple 2.5 km
Manu temple 3 km
Mountaineering Institute 3
Rahala water falls 16
Rohtang pass 51
Solang valley 13

worst hotel in manali... don't trust on photos... nothing like photos,.. check-out on 20 jun 2013.
food served from other hotel.. in tiffins. service is worst than a guest house. leakage in rooms.
no balcony. ugly bed sheets. no restaurant. no bar . no laundry. we stayed 3 nights in "harmony cottages" on 2 nights we ordered food from outside restaurant.
