    Would not recommend for families

    We recently stayed at this hotel with a family of 4 (two boys under 6) and would not recommend for families. We left our booking very late so didn’t have many options so it wasn’t our first choice but decided to book on the back of the global Hard Rock brand. Not expecting a family hotel by any means, but on our first night (after a day of travel with 2 cranky young ones) we were greeted to deafening music from the live band all night (which incidentally our ‘family’ suite was directly opposite) until about 11pm. This was a common occurrence for the duration of our stay (in between loud live music and DJ music booming directly into the rooms). When asking about this before booking we were told that the music was not audible from the rooms but this is clearly not the case. Food options are very limited within the hotel (although the food available is very good - we loved the Indian options and our kids said the pizza was the ‘best ever’) and the location is not great - Calungate beach is very touristy and extremely crowded - good if you want do water sports (parasailing, boat rides, etc) but not very good for just chilling out. Meant slot of expensive taxis to get anywhere as the hotel is well off the main road so options are limited to overpriced hotel car or taxis waiting to charge tourist premiums. Customer service was also very mixed. The staff in the restaurant and concierge were very nice. However, we had a bad experience with the room service where they misunderstood what we ordered and despite the misunderstanding on their behalf they were very aggressive in trying to charge us anyway. Three phone calls later they agreed to waive the charge but we were disappointed with the poor customer service - especially given the cost of the ‘misunderstood’ order was about A$6 compared to the room rate of A$400+ per night. The power also goes off very frequently (probably 10x per day). It’s only for a minute or two each time so a relatively minor inconvenience (and not entirely unusual for India) but not something we have experienced at other hotels in India nor what you should expect from a major international hotel chain. Also - weirdly the iron can’t be detached from the ironing board (I guess people commonly steal these?). This meant the only option to cool down the iron (and the giant ironing board attached) was to either put it back in the cupboard (and likely burn down the hotel) or leave out in an area that is easily accessible by two kids that think finding things that can harm them is a sport. All in all the experience was below average but certainly not good value for money and would recommend staying in a different area and with a more family friendly resort if travelling with little ones (we liked Candolim beach and it is much easier to get around there).     Great place to stay, centre of town but still not directly on the main road. Well appointed rooms. Helpful and friendly staff. Service turn around can be better. Only cerib - no hot water in the rooms. Barely warm. Staff don't have answers... More

    Hard Rock Hotel - Noisy, unfriendly and generally not a great experience!

    Over run by VERY loud local families with noisy children that were aloud to run amok. Locals shouting at all hours with our regard For other guests. Staff just ignored the noise and seemed to have given up wasn’t a great experience although perhaps we were just unlucky and stayed there with a bunch of local numpties holidaying at same time. ...     You won’t get a sunbed

    And if you do it will probably be in the shade. Although this hotel looks good, it’s design is flawed. There are not enough sun beds for all the guests, and one side of the pool is in constant shade all day long. Today I woke at 7am to try and get a sunbed, to find the only sunny side was already reserved by towels with no one sat on them. 7am?! Tomorrow I’ll have to get up at 6am! I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you are a sun worshipper trying to get a tan. Also, last night we were kept awake by constant power cuts through the night. On the plus side the room is nice, bed is very comfy and the food tasty. So disappointed with the pool!!!... More

    Not as one might expect.

    Small rooms - we had one of the highest priced, the odd member of staff excellent most not so. Lots of young kids from holidaying locals allowed to run amok to the annoyance of many other guests. No views just adjoining buildings. Generally very noisy even late at night as regional guests seem to have little regard for others. If you are looking for a quite get away and value for money this probably isn’t it or at least that was our experience. ... More

Overview

Hard Rock Hotel Goa is located off the main road, 1 km from Calangute beach. The hotel provides air-conditioned transfers to and from the Airport and Railway Station. The hotel in Goa has 135 rooms with centralized air-conditioning, 42' LCD televisions, fully stocked mini-bars, 24 hr room service, free bottled water, premium toiletries, in - room safe, bathrobe and slippers. The hotel has all non-smoking rooms without balconies. The hotelalso has Elektra' banquet hall and Chrysalis as boardroom with useful facilities. The Hard Rock Hotel Goa also has an on-site Deli, a Bar and a coffee shop for guests recreation. The hotel has a swimming pool and gymnasium and organizes a half day sightseeing tours in North Goa.   1. Guest must be over 18 years of age to check-in to this hotel.
  2. As per Government regulations, it is mandatory for all guests above 18 years of age to carry a valid photo identity card & address proof at the time of check-in. Please note that failure to abide by this can result with the hotel denying a check-in. Hotels normally do not provide any refund for such cancellations.
  3. The standard check-in and check-out times are 12 noon. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to hotel availability and may also be chargeable by the hotel. Any early check-in or late check-out request must be directed to and reconfirmed with the hotel directly.
  4. Failure to check-in to the hotel, will attract the full cost of stay or penalty as per the hotel cancellation policy.
  5. Hotels charge a compulsory Gala Dinner Supplement during Christmas, New Year's eve or other special events and festivals like Diwali or Dusshera. These additional charge are not included in the booking amount and will be collected directly at the hotel.
  6. There might be seasonal variation in hotel tariff rates during Peak days, for example URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the room tariff differences if any will have to be borne and paid by the customer directly at the hotel, if the booking stay period falls during such dates.
  7. All additional charges other than the room charges and inclusions as mentioned in the booking voucher are to be borne and paid separately during check-out. Please make sure that you are aware of all such charges that may comes as extras. Some of them can be WiFi costs, Mini Bar, Laundry Expenses, Telephone calls, Room Service, Snacks etc.
  8. Some hotels may have policies that do not allow unmarried / unrelated couples or certain foreign nationalities to check-in without the correct documentation. No refund will be applicable in case the hotel denies check-in under such circumstances. If you have any doubts on this, do call us for any assistance

Booking Policies

  7. Hotels may charge a mandatory meal surcharge on festive periods e.g. Christmas, New Year's Eve etc. All additional charges (including mandatory meal surcharges) need to be cleared directly at the hotel.
  8. Some hotels may require guest(s) to furnish a valid photographic proof of identity in original at the time of Check-in. Kindly carry the same along with you to avoid any inconvenience. The following documents are recognized for this purpose: Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, Passport or Election Card.
  9. Note PAN Cards will not be accepted as a valid ID card.
  10. All refund requests must occur within 60 days of hotel check-out. Any refund for checking out early or for no shows will be given at the sole discretion of goomo.com.
  11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
  12. Goomo acts purely as an agent to hotels/suppliers, hence Goomo shall not be responsible for issuance of any invoices on hotel room charges.
