Comfortable and quiet place for a getaway with friends or family
on Oct 25, 2017
Have stayed at this bunglow property 2-3 times with friends and family. It has 4 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The place is located in a bunglow society in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood. The caretaker cum cook family is a great asset for this place to ensure delicious homemade food. Theres a nice outdoor seating area as well as a terrace. The lawn area is also good for kids to play.
Property lacks maintenance
on Jul 7, 2015
My family and I of 11 adults and our dog visited the Gurukripa Bungalow from 4th – 7th July 2015. During my research of this bungalow on the internet, when I learnt that it belonged to the owner of The Brightland Holiday Village, Mahabaleshwar, I presumed that it would be at the same high standards as that of the resort, but it was quite the contrary.
This bungalow, according to us, has been poorly maintained. To cite a few examples –
1. Most of the the furniture is quite old and run down. The glass table in the veranda has been severely damaged and has been taped up in several places, instead of being replaced by a new glass.
2. The power of the flow of the water in all bathrooms is very low, whether it is in the taps, the hand shower or the head shower making it very inconvenient to use. In fact one of the bathrooms the shower has been broken and has not been re-fixed, and hence there is only a tap and bucket to fill with water and have a bath.
3. On their website it says “Full back up generator to operate all lights, refrigerator and the AC in every room” but the generator never started on its own whenever the electricity went out. Every time the light would go out, we would have to call the caretaker to come start the generator and sometimes it would be up to 20 minutes before the electricity would be restored.
4. On their website it also says in the facilities section, that there are games like carrom and table tennis available on site. However, the table tennis table as well as the rackets are severely worn out and almost unusable, and there is no carrom available at all, so the information on their website is incorrect.
And finally, the approach road to the bungalow is almost unnoticeable from the main road, and is in a very bad shape. In fact it is not a proper tarred or cemented road at all, and is like a narrow cross country road.
All in all, I would not recommend this bungalow to anybody until the owners decide to fix all the problems and maintain it properly.

This Bungalow situated in an 6 acre piece of land in the Bhose Village on the Panchagni-Mahabaleshwar Road is an amazing place. The view of the valley and river from is simply awesome. The rooms (5-Bed) & the living rooms are very good with antique types furniture and feeling. The service by the caretaker and the cook is also very good. They cook very good Maharastrian food. In short a go-to-place when you care looking for a short 2-3 nights holiday in Mahabaleshwar with family or friends.
