    Better than expected....

    On arrival, the car park was crowded due to the building works around and in the hotel as they upgrade. Reception was busy (lunchtime in the week running up to Xmas) but we were booked in efficiently, albeit informed that my room had no view as the window was blanked out due to the building works. Hmm. So, the room was fine, with a natty bathroom door arrangement that worked so that a single door served the bathroom and the separated toilet. Got back late to a friendly reception and slept like a log....good bed. Left early the following morning and had assumed that breakfast would not be available but it was! A complete self service affair, fresh bacon, sausages, Heinz baked beans, etc but best of all, a takeaway offering. I made myself a bacon bap, coffee to go, and with my supplied takeaway bag full, left happy. Turned out the bacon was excellent! Top marks.... More

    Good example of a holiday inn - stayed and eat in the hotel. Easy access off the M4 making it quick to get to Newport, Cardiff or Bristol. Food was ok and the breakfast was good. Bar is open and serves a good range.... More

    Uncomfortable bed, back was in agony after staying. Loud as the walls are like paper. Car park was full so we had to park in over glow car park which proved difficult with the children and our stuff. Clean, however not worth £90 a night! Very disappointed and will not be returning... More

    My husband and I booked and paid for a standard double in July, for a stay in December. We arrived at the hotel earlier than the 3pm check in as we were meeting friends. We had arrived by train and walk the 15mins to the hotel and realised there were works going on as we had to pick our way over a muddy car park, through barriers, to the entrance. At the reception the assistant said a room was ready but that we should be aware we did not have a 'view', This felt like the sketch from Fawlty Towers, as what sort of view would you expect from a city hotel? Then something made me ask....'it does have a window though, doesn't it?'. Yes of course was the reply... to be followed by ...it does not open though. By this time I was a bit suspicious....call me untrusting! So I asked...'you can see out of it though, I hope?'. You could have knocked me down with a feather when she told me that I couldn't as it was boarded up due to the works. She said I would have been aware of this as it was all over their internet site. We, however, booked over the telephone and were not told anything about the building works. All she kept saying was ... you only booked a cheap room. Well, forgive me, but £148 for a standard double, paid 5 months in advance is not cheap! After we made a fuss ...which I did no like doing as I felt very embarrassed ... we were finally given another room. I realise that the xmas market was on and room prices were at a premium, but we booked earlier to get the price. We did not like being constantly told we had only booked a 'cheap' room in front of our friends and other guests. We were made to fell very second class. Embarrassed and disappointed about the way we were treated. The friends we were meeting had in fact booked and paid at the same time we had, they checked in well before us, and they had a nicer room on the 3 floor. This led us to suspect that rooms were allocated on arrival. It is the first time we have used Holiday Inn Express and the room was smaller, than a Premier Inn room. There was very little wardrobe space and no shelving. The toiletries were no better than budget hotels.... pump dispensers of soap and shower/hair wash. After our evening out we sat in the bar for a drink. We had Amaretto and Cointreau - served in the largest glasses I have ever seen! You could have put half a bottle of wine in it. Suggest you get a better supply of more appropriate glasses. Would we recommend? Not until the work is finished.... More

Please note that failure to abide by this can result with the hotel denying a check-in. Hotels normally do not provide any refund for such cancellations.
  3. The standard check-in and check-out times are 12 noon. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to hotel availability and may also be chargeable by the hotel. Any early check-in or late check-out request must be directed to and reconfirmed with the hotel directly.
  4. Failure to check-in to the hotel, will attract the full cost of stay or penalty as per the hotel cancellation policy.
  5. Hotels charge a compulsory Gala Dinner Supplement during Christmas, New Year's eve or other special events and festivals like Diwali or Dusshera. These additional charge are not included in the booking amount and will be collected directly at the hotel.
  6. There might be seasonal variation in hotel tariff rates during Peak days, for example URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the room tariff differences if any will have to be borne and paid by the customer directly at the hotel, if the booking stay period falls during such dates.
  7. All additional charges other than the room charges and inclusions as mentioned in the booking voucher are to be borne and paid separately during check-out. Please make sure that you are aware of all such charges that may comes as extras. Some of them can be WiFi costs, Mini Bar, Laundry Expenses, Telephone calls, Room Service, Snacks etc.
  8. Some hotels may have policies that do not allow unmarried / unrelated couples or certain foreign nationalities to check-in without the correct documentation. No refund will be applicable in case the hotel denies check-in under such circumstances. If you have any doubts on this, do call us for any assistance

  11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
  12. Goomo acts purely as an agent to hotels/suppliers, hence Goomo shall not be responsible for issuance of any invoices on hotel room charges.
