    400 rupees or else!

    Weekend trip with friends, stay at the Golden Tulip for one night. Arrived early so not all of our rooms were ready, but we were accommodated with one room in which to freshen up although the process of check in was laborious and lengthier than necessary and we were repeatedly scolded to go sit down to wait. Room was ok, but looked like it hadn’t been recently serviced and view out the window was of construction in progress, motorcycle parking, and general dirt and grime. Off to tour for the afternoon, and returned to check in to other two rooms. My group made plans to relax and then meet for a drink on the rooftop bar at a specific time. Running late and dashing out the door my in room phone rang. Expected it to be my friends downstairs telling me to hurry up but instead was someone identifying herself as reception. In fact was same woman from the a.m. that was commanding us to sit. What followed was an interrogation that stole a good 5 minutes of my life that I will never get back. First she curtly stated that she needed to ‘verify some details’; fine. She proceeded to a laundry list of standard and repeat information already on file such as what room I was in, when my check out date was, how many pax etc. She then goes on to inform me in no uncertain terms that breakfast is NOT included in my room and that it will be 400 INR should I wish to dine in the a.m. As I was not the person who had made the reservation, and we had been under the impression during check in that the buffet was included in our room rate, I replied that I would check with the person in my group who made the reservation but if not the price was fine. She then rather rudely informs me yet again that the cost for the breakfast buffet is 400 INR and disdainfully goes on to say that I was on the “EP” plan and that ALL meals were extra. Only half listening in the first place I then told her, again, that I would double check with my friend, thanks for telling me, and that I had to go. But this did not satisfy her, she refuses to let me hang up and then continues to needle me incessantly about whether or not I will be taking breakfast, and again, that it is 400 INR, somehow implying that I would not be able to afford the cost which was preposterous as we would not be paying a high room fee in the first place if we were on a budget. I became impatient at this point; harrassing me while my friends were languishing in the lobby, and as I told her that I had to hang up and leave she still continued to pepper me in an accusatory tone with questions still on the buffet topic, time I was departing in the a.m. and more, as if I had no right to be there in the first place. Essentially I had to hang up on her. Once reunited with my group I discovered that they too had been subjected to the same woman’s rudeness. Look to see her sitting at the desk dialling presumably every guest in the property to continue the campaign. Never in my life have I been to a hotel that insists on knowing your future hunger levels or financial solvency to cover the cost of breakfast. Other than that the rooftop lounge/restaurant was great, staff friendly. Hotel is rather dated though, like it had it’s heyday in the 80’s and no efforts have been made to bring it to this millennium. For the cost, the front desk staff should be quicker, and far more polite. Would likely not return.... More

    Stayed over night while visiting jaipur.The reception staff were really professional in their apporach and very pleasant!which goes a long way with the visitor.The hotel staff were very pleasant from the very start to the time we left.The room was lovely and bright with all mod cons ,one expects from a hotel these days.Every thing in the room functioned perfectly and the shower was the best I have experiencedi on my visit to India this time. The breakfast was brilliant with a lovely variety of different selections Finally ,I must commend Priyanka on reception for her professional attitude and warm clientel approach ,she is an asset to your establishment without a doubt. We shall definately be staying at Golden Tulip on our next visit to Jaipur!... More

Booking Policies
  1. The standard check-in time is 12 PM and the standard check-out time is 12 PM. Early check-in or late check-out is strictly subject to availability and may be chargeable by the hotel.Any early check-in or late check-out request must be directed and reconfirmed with the hotel directly.
  2. The primary guest must be at least 18 years old to be able to check into this hotel.
  3. The hotel reserves the right of admission. Accommodation can be denied to guests posing as a couple if suitable proof of identification is not presented at check-in. Goomo will not be responsible for any check-in denied by the hotel due to the aforesaid reason.
  4. Child policy apply which may vary from hotel to hotel.
  5. Failure to check into the hotel, will attract no show charges as per Hotel policies.
  6. The total price is inclusive of all applicable taxes. However, it does not include additional personal expenses like telephone charges, meals that aren't a part of your meal plan, any hotel services you use (like laundry and room service) or tips.The hotel will charge you directly for these when you're checking out.
  7. Hotels may charge a mandatory meal surcharge on festive periods e.g. Christmas, New Year's Eve etc. All additional charges (including mandatory meal surcharges) need to be cleared directly at the hotel.
  8. Some hotels may require guest(s) to furnish a valid photographic proof of identity in original at the time of Check-in. Kindly carry the same along with you to avoid any inconvenience. The following documents are recognized for this purpose: Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, Passport or Election Card.
  9. Note PAN Cards will not be accepted as a valid ID card.
  10. All refund requests must occur within 60 days of hotel check-out. Any refund for checking out early or for no shows will be given at the sole discretion of goomo.com.
  11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
  12. Goomo acts purely as an agent to hotels/suppliers, hence Goomo shall not be responsible for issuance of any invoices on hotel room charges.
