Pathetic service in restaurant. Leaking roof. Housekeeper stole money from wallet ! Great location unprofessionally managed. Do not rely on what they promise and say cross check and use your own wit. Since booked through make my trip had no option to change the hotel !
Luxury at Sea beach!

This is situated on the BEACH! The distance from Beach is hardly 50 meters. From sea facing rooms you can look at sea 24 hours. The sea facing rooms are best. Don't go for economy rooms. Pool Facing rooms are excellent but no sea view.
Food is excellent and reasonable priced. Travel Desk is very good.

First the plus points: Right on beach. Sea view was fantastic from our rooms. Rooms are good, beds are good, good stock of toileteries, tea, coffee bags are replenishedd without any problem. Good decent staff. Wheel chair was provided whenever required.
But food is weak point. Most of the items in room service are not available, or they will say that since it is buffet time, we cannot provide. Buffet you should be first to reach, at that time everything is avaialable, but afterwards replenishment of any food item, or even spoons take time.
Great views of the sea marred by poor service

The hotel is slightly secluded from the main Swargadwar beach in Puri. The views of the sea from rooms on 2nd/3rd floor are superb. On the outside, the hotel looks great but that's about it.
Most of the rooms are being renovated and they lack one facility or the other to the extent of uncovered wires being seen. We were lucky in being allotted one of the slightly complete ones. But the thing which needs improvement most is the service. We traveled with my 3 yr old son and they are absolutely inept to take care of child diets. We had to explain time and again about simple items like moong dal and khichdi for the baby and the staff struggles to speak in both English and Hindi. There is absolutely no co-ordination among the various departments in the hotel and even after booking in advance, the front desk kept us waiting for 30 mins as they were unable to find our booking done online.
Also because the hotel is slightly secluded - you will need to hire an Auto to travel to the Swargadwar area or you can hire a 2 wheeler which will cost around 350/day (For an Activa).
All in all - lots of room for improvement on the service front.
Good hotel but needs some improvement.

I did a pretty long trip to Puri this December during the winter holidays. I had booked four rooms since we are big family vacationing together after a long time. We arrived by Shatabdi express around 12 midnight and were allotted two standard rooms on the first floor and two on the second. These rooms have partial view of the sea. I would not recommend travelling by this train as check in and check out timings in Puri is 8AM. So you technically loose a day's tariff.
The rooms are allotted to us did not have wifi and if you need to use the internet you can do so at the reception only. That's a big negative. Beds are nice and comfortable complete with a table and sofa but we did have problems with the AC and the geyser. The AC remote was missing and the geyser cut out switch needed to be switched on from outside every time we needed hot water (which is something a guest must not do). The hotel is on an expansion mode and you might find workers hammering away at 3PM in the afternoon when you are enjoying a leisurely afternoon siesta.
A big plus for this hotel is the kitchen. The hotel provides you complimentary breakfast which is pretty good. Starting from corn flakes, juices to a nice spread of indian and south indian cuisine...its pretty filling... and you might think of skipping lunch if you take a late and heavy breakfast. Enjoy great views of the sea from the dining room. There is a small open area where you can stroll or enjoy the sun. The kitchen is excellent and you could lunch or have dinner at the hotel if wish not to venture out. The Prawn Thermidor is recommended. They also make good fish dishes like pabdar jhol or rui kalia if you are a fish lover. The only issue is the waiting time which can be close to 45 minutes, so its better if you order early.
Staff is pretty good and friendly. Housekeeping is excellent. If you need to do sightseeing the hotel can arrange a car for you. A big plus of this hotel is its location. Its about 15 minutes from the railway station, 2.5 Kilometers from the Jagannath Temple. Most importantly the hotel is bag on the beach with very few hotels around so you can enjoy the sea in comfort with less people. There's also medicine shops and eateries such as Chung Wa(Chinese) and Wild Crass (Indian) near the Subhash Bose Chowk, roughly a 10 minute walk from the hotel.
There's a nice swimming pool at the hotel where you can relax with a beer during summer.
A good hotel with a great location and food. But I hope they fine tune certain things as they expand and add floors.
