    Poor Service and Worst Food

    We visited with our family members including our kids to enjoy the Day Trip on 06082017, but from reception to restaurant everywhere we found that lack of service and co-ordination within staff members. No resort staff associate with us to guide and expalint the facilities they mentioned in website. Food is waste, the same amount if we spend in chennai we get best menu and tasty food. All the way travelling from chennai to this Resort is 100% waste.... More

    I just visited this resort looking into some of the reviews. They welcomed with a welcome drinks grape/orange juice gave us a room for free since we were around 15 members. Time slot for swimming pool have to inform earlier. There is a boat House available good one. Food was good can give 3.5/5 not all amenities available but Worth for the price.... More

    Whoever gave this place an actual star must have been out of their mind. Pros Hotel offered boating over the backwater which was great. They had a waterfall feature near the pool which was nice. Cons The room was very dirty. Dead insects everywhere floor had not even been swept. The aircon in the rooms blowly mildly cold air so take ages for the room to get cool. You do not get a hand towel even upon request The staff, and i mean 95% of them, do not speak english. Not even a bit. As i am of Indian origin i thought okay lets try in Hindi..they don't even speak Hindi. The floating 'restraunt' is a barge with one table on it which is booked by one group only. They then proceed to serve the garbage they serve in the main restraunt. The whole resort is infested with flys. Given that they are attracted to excrement i can see the appeal. The restraunt is the most disgusting place i have ever eaten. If it were in the UK it would be shut down 3 weeks before it was opened. The food is disgusting only a buffet is available. During the day there are flys all over in the dining room. During the evening they are joined by an army of mosquitos. The utensils were unclean (literally had bits of food on them). In the morning the glasses for juice looked like they had not been washed in a month. I felt sick just being in the room. They used the same food soaked table clothes from last night. No effort to clean them. One table even had a plate of leftover food from last night. The indoor games and entertainment were also lacking. The pool table is lopsided so the balls all roll to one side. The swimming pool is not clean. Surrounding areas with 'sunbeds' are just rusted metal frames. There is a darts board available but the darts were broken. The table tennis table was in the same room looked in useable condition but the hotel locked the room from 5.30pm..there is no ac in that room so its to hot to play before 5.30pm😂. Room service was non existent. Seriously don't bother. The rooms were not equipped with the telephone numbers for reception room service etc. When i managed to successfully guess the number i called 6 times over 2 hours asking for a menu. No menu. At this point i was getting annoyed had to go down eat in the restraunt. In summary as a traveller from the UK that has stayed in a variety of resorts my advice to you is do not get lured in by the price as we did. It will be a huge mistake. ... More

Overview

Located near Edward Elliot's Beach (72 km), Golden Bay Resort treats their guests to an internet access. This resort in Chennai is in the proximity of 3 km from Kathankadai Bus Stand. This resort consists of a single floor and 34 rooms. Rooms have a bottled/drinking water, tea/coffee maker, direct-dial phone, television, iron/ironing board (on request), temperature control, make-up mirror, refrigerator, wake-up calls fand a hot and cold water supply.

Policies
  1. Guest must be over 18 years of age to check-in to this hotel.
  2. As per Government regulations, it is mandatory for all guests above 18 years of age to carry a valid photo identity card & address proof at the time of check-in. Please note that failure to abide by this can result with the hotel denying a check-in. Hotels normally do not provide any refund for such cancellations.
  3. The standard check-in and check-out times are 12 noon. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to hotel availability and may also be chargeable by the hotel. Any early check-in or late check-out request must be directed to and reconfirmed with the hotel directly.
  4. Failure to check-in to the hotel, will attract the full cost of stay or penalty as per the hotel cancellation policy.
  5. Hotels charge a compulsory Gala Dinner Supplement during Christmas, New Year's eve or other special events and festivals like Diwali or Dusshera. These additional charge are not included in the booking amount and will be collected directly at the hotel.
  6. There might be seasonal variation in hotel tariff rates during Peak days, for example URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the room tariff differences if any will have to be borne and paid by the customer directly at the hotel, if the booking stay period falls during such dates.
  7. All additional charges other than the room charges and inclusions as mentioned in the booking voucher are to be borne and paid separately during check-out. Please make sure that you are aware of all such charges that may comes as extras. Some of them can be WiFi costs, Mini Bar, Laundry Expenses, Telephone calls, Room Service, Snacks etc.
  8. Some hotels may have policies that do not allow unmarried / unrelated couples or certain foreign nationalities to check-in without the correct documentation. No refund will be applicable in case the hotel denies check-in under such circumstances. If you have any doubts on this, do call us for any assistance
  9. Any changes or booking modifications are subject to availability and charges may apply as per the hotel policies.

  8. Some hotels may require guest(s) to furnish a valid photographic proof of identity in original at the time of Check-in. Kindly carry the same along with you to avoid any inconvenience.   9. Note PAN Cards will not be accepted as a valid ID card.
  10. All refund requests must occur within 60 days of hotel check-out. Any refund for checking out early or for no shows will be given at the sole discretion of goomo.com.
  11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
  12. Goomo acts purely as an agent to hotels/suppliers, hence Goomo shall not be responsible for issuance of any invoices on hotel room charges.
