    Georgian inn is a lodge not hotel so expectations should not be high. Pro Near to shopping area Esplanade Near to Sealdah railway station Food they provide just on a call, quality is good.     Unfriendly manager and tiny room

    I discovered this hotel through the Lonely Planet, it was recommended and described as being ‘friendly and cheap’, these are two things this hotel is not. 5 of us arrived at this hotel expecting what was described as a ‘family room’. On arrival the manager demanded us to pay for the 2 night stay before we had even seen the room. The ‘family room’ was TINY - it was 2 small double beds with about a foot between them and no space even for our rucksacks on the floor, considering we were paying over 4000 rupees for 2 nights we expected it would be a large enough room for us to have a comfortable stay. The manager was extremely rude and unhelpful, he had no manners (didn’t say please or thank you once - just ‘pay now’) and demanded us to give the whole sum of money as soon as we woke up the next morning, even when we had informed him that we didn’t have enough cash on arrival but we would pay as soon as we could. It was almost comical as to how consistently rude he was. Only one member of staff was kind enough to help us with our bags and give us a smile, and for that we were very grateful. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone purely based on the hostile welcome we received, it appeared that we were an inconvenience to the manager just by checking in and out. ... More

    Very bad experience in this hotel. I spent 3 nights in this hotel, and reserved my room through make my trip. I paid 1400 RS room a night. But the room I have seen on internet and on reality was not same. They have given me a very small room 11*8 feet with attached bathroom. Bathroom was a rat nest, no place to stand or sit for basic requirements. Too much small room and toilet, not sufficient even for a single person. Old heritage television hanging upon the head, a risky affaire to stay in this room no 108. Too noisy one can listen the heartbeat of person nextdoor. Behaviour very rude. I will not suggest this hotel to anyone. Rooms one can avail easily direct at good prices any where in Kolkata than MakeMyTrip or other agencies which charge 1400 of these categories can be found on the spot for 500/600 rupees easily....     We stayed at Georgian Inn for three nights. We arrived in the early hours due to a flight delay . The room we had for the first night was not brilliant, however, as it was 2 am and we needed sleep we stayed in it . Next morning we were moved to a much better room . The location is fantastic, in an old neighbourhood of Kolkata, when you step out of the gates you feel you are stepping back in time , a bonus is the beer and wine shop just outside the gate , very handy for a refreshing beer . We are booking again next year as we want to spend more time in Kolkata, , we found it to be a fascinating city . If you are looking for 5 star luxury, Georgian Inn isn’t for you , but if you want to experience “old Kolkata “, it definitely is .... More

    Worst Hotel In the Whole Kolkata

    We have booked 10 rooms for our cousin's wedding .. a bizarre incident happened today, my mom n wife with my 2 yrs old son went there to visit the relatives staying there .. they we're not allowed to go upstairs, they were kept waiting for 45 minutes in this humid weather.. when I called the owner of the hotel , he said he needed an Id proof for letting the visitors go.. he was very rude, does such a rule exist anywhere in this world, if we are staying over , the visitors needs to give his I'd proof..I think no.. I m a traveloholic, have stayed in five star hotels too.. pls don't stay in this hotel.. rooms r very unclean, small in size.. IF U PREFER STAYING IN THIS LOCATION , THAN RATHER BOOK YOUR ROOMS IN JOHNNY GUEST HOUSE ON TALTALA AVENUE.. HOTEL GEORGIAN IS A STRICT NO NO WOULD HAVE RATED IT - 100 ON RATING SCALE... More

Overview

Centrally located in the heart of the City, Georgian Inn has clean and comfortable AC or Non-AC rooms with attached bath and Geyser for winter operation. These rooms are located on the 1st and 2nd floors and guests can easily take advantage of the lift facility. Facilities such as a travel desk to help the guests with their travel plans, free car parking space, car rental services are also provided. Other facilities like laundry service and drinking water in rooms is offered at an extra charge.

Policies
  1. Guest must be over 18 years of age to check-in to this hotel.
  2. As per Government regulations, it is mandatory for all guests above 18 years of age to carry a valid photo identity card & address proof at the time of check-in. Please note that failure to abide by this can result with the hotel denying a check-in. Hotels normally do not provide any refund for such cancellations.
  3. The standard check-in and check-out times are 12 noon. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to hotel availability and may also be chargeable by the hotel. Any early check-in or late check-out request must be directed to and reconfirmed with the hotel directly.
  4. Failure to check-in to the hotel, will attract the full cost of stay or penalty as per the hotel cancellation policy.
  5. Hotels charge a compulsory Gala Dinner Supplement during Christmas, New Year's eve or other special events and festivals like Diwali or Dusshera. These additional charge are not included in the booking amount and will be collected directly at the hotel.
  6. There might be seasonal variation in hotel tariff rates during Peak days, for example URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the room tariff differences if any will have to be borne and paid by the customer directly at the hotel, if the booking stay period falls during such dates.
  7. All additional charges other than the room charges and inclusions as mentioned in the booking voucher are to be borne and paid separately during check-out. Please make sure that you are aware of all such charges that may comes as extras. Some of them can be WiFi costs, Mini Bar, Laundry Expenses, Telephone calls, Room Service, Snacks etc.
  8. Some hotels may have policies that do not allow unmarried / unrelated couples or certain foreign nationalities to check-in without the correct documentation. No refund will be applicable in case the hotel denies check-in under such circumstances. If you have any doubts on this, do call us for any assistance
  9. Any changes or booking modifications are subject to availability and charges may apply as per the hotel policies.

  6. The total price is inclusive of all applicable taxes. However, it does not include additional personal expenses like telephone charges, meals that aren't a part of your meal plan, any hotel services you use (like laundry and room service) or tips.The hotel will charge you directly for these when you're checking out.
  7. Hotels may charge a mandatory meal surcharge on festive periods e.g. Christmas, New Year's Eve etc. All additional charges (including mandatory meal surcharges) need to be cleared directly at the hotel.
  8. Some hotels may require guest(s) to furnish a valid photographic proof of identity in original at the time of Check-in. Kindly carry the same along with you to avoid any inconvenience. The following documents are recognized for this purpose: Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, Passport or Election Card.
  9. Note PAN Cards will not be accepted as a valid ID card.
  10. All refund requests must occur within 60 days of hotel check-out. Any refund for checking out early or for no shows will be given at the sole discretion of goomo.com.
  11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
  12. Goomo acts purely as an agent to hotels/suppliers, hence Goomo shall not be responsible for issuance of any invoices on hotel room charges.
