We had booked the hotel room (standard deluxe) for our visit in simla for 3 days and 2 nights. Our experience at the hotel was as follows ;
Condition of the rooms: Very good and hygienic. Warm and cozy. (Heater available in the rooms)
Room service And Housekeeping : Very prompt
Food quality : Good and hygienic.
The staff: Very courteous and always accommodating. (my kid was having cold and cough that's why had to request them for additional honey and turmeric which they were always providing)
All in all for the price we paid we definitely got very good service and experience at the hotel.
With special mention to the hotel staff manager Mr. Chauhan, Mr. Vikrant. And one of their housekeeper boy who is doing his M. Phil and working part time at the hotel. Good job. Keep it up.
Its an average hotel

Good Stay, Decent Hotel, Awesome location - Fairmount Shimla
on Sep 17, 2017
We visited Hotel Fairmount on 22-27 August'2017, don't know why people have written such terrible negative reviews, if one goes through them then one finds that reviews before 2017 are all similar and in 2017 they are all different. The hotel have gone through rennovation, the rooms are much the same as in pictures, the new block is excellent, although no lift is there but the rooms in new block especially 4, 5, 6 floor are too good. They are all done in wood and bedding is new, bathrooms are good. So far so good, the staff is polite, cooperative, I specially thank Mr. Balwant, the Manager of the hotel for taking such lovely care of us. The hotel is located in back side of Jakhu Temple, easliy accessible by both own vehicle and public conveyance, I parked my car at hotel and travelled all three days in public transport which is easliy available fromt he Navbahar Chowk. Don't why people find it difficult to locate the hotel, i drove all myself to the hotel in one go, even Mr. Balwant was surprised to know that we directly drove to the hotel without even asking anybody about the way to hotel. It is much straight from old bus stand, HP secratariat, Navbahar Chowk, near St Bedes Girls college and there you are. We booked on MAP basis, the breakfast and dinner were included in the hotel charges. The room provided to us was great, we would like to stay in the same room next time on Shimla visit. However Hotel need to work little on their food items, since they booked us on MAP basis, there was too little to choose from the menu. Although the food quality is too good, the soups in evening was tasty, dinner was great, breakfast was not that satisfactory, dessert were not there. Hotel also provided us with a great cake as it was my anniversary, thanks again Mr. Balwant. There is a little secret to hotel as well, the Jahku Temple is just a kilometer and half climb from the backside of the hotel, the little trek to temple is very scenic, the forest around is lush green. The weather around hotel is much cooler as compared to other part of Shimla, as it is in the dense forest, the walks around hotel are so nice, the breeze is cold even in muggy weather of August. There is another surprise near the hotels, there is Buddy's cafe near the hotel, it is the most happening place in Shimla with a great vibe and great food and with great views. We had chicken noodles, lemon tea, and their local delicacies, all were so good. The gentry at cafe is young as it is near St Bedes Girls college, one can feel the difference in vibe of other Shimla cafes. I really loved the hotel, one has to ask for little things but all in all a great stay, a great memorable trip to Shimla, this calls for another trip and hopefully another stay at Hotel Fiarmount. Mr. Balwant and his team rocks, they serve in every possible manner, stars doesn't matter here, the hotel has a personal touch. They can do wonders with small improvements, little more improvement is required in food. One must not forget that the vacations are all about hotel stay and food. The hotel Fairmount satisfies most of the requirements of being a great stay, away from crowded Mall and nearby shoddy hotels, the hotel is a pleasant surprise. The hotel need to work more to justify it's three star tag, slight improvement in food is much needed to make the hotel stay experience as enthalling. I have stayed at Oberoi Wilflower Hall, it is the most expensive hotel in Shimla, .... to my utmost surprise Fairmount's club room and family rooms in new block are as good if not better. The interiors are immaculate, for sure it can not be compared with five star boutique quality but the rooms at Fairmount delighted out senses. I request Mr. Balwant to work more on food items even if it is lean period of hotel, it doesn't cost a dime to include some articles in the menu. The hospitality business runs on customer delight, tourists keep coming to a hotel if they are delighted on their first visit, as their first visit can be the last ever if not served well. I was delighted at Fairmount, for sure wish to come back and and have an extended stay.

Specially Mr. B.L Chauhan General Manager is very helpful, cooperative and nice in nature. Hotel is clean and scenic views. Valley view and nature comes close when you stay here. Overall good experience and worth for money. Total recommended and must visit here while come to Shimla. 3 kms away from Mall Road & hotel provides cab facility also. Overall excellent!!
