It is very good hotel located in defence colony. Rooms are quite large and equipped with all kind of modern facilities. Reception staff is helpful and friendly. Food quality is awesome. Overall a pleasant experience .
BACK TO THE PAST!

I know I would love it when I was asked to sign a 3-inch thick Hotel Register, by hand in block capital, where front and center is the 'age' column. When I entered 66 the young receptionist could not hide his surprise as most of the other guests seem to be younger. I was on a 2-week cooking sojourn to learn curry from Chef Usha @ MasterChef.in whose school is in the Defence Colony neighborhood. Stallon is a well kept secret with old style service that makes one feels 'warm' if you know what I mean. Yes, the decor is a tad tired but who cares when the people around you make you feel so welcome. The room is large, well equipped, very efficient Wi-Fi with all the key international news stations including Russia Today ... what more can one ask these days? My favorite is chatting with the team of young men who keep the place running like clockwork, they are pros. I also love the breakfasts, offering a different Indian alternative daily on top of the usual western fare and guess what .. I had both, every day for 10-days at a community table where you mingle with other guests from the 10 or so rooms in what is really a converted residential building in a quaint neighborhood. My outlook on B&Bs changed altogether. If I have to find a 'negative' which it really is not .. Defence Colony is not mainstream Delhi and the traffic into the City can be daunting. Then again who needs the hassle of a polluted City when one can relax in Defence Colony, complete with a charming village market that offers most if not all of what an incidental tourist might need. One last tip : watch out for the Roast Nuts Vendor outside, he is the best there is. I fell in love with his collection and especially his jovial personality. I miss him now as I write. Stallen is excellent value for $ in our inflated world today, it helps to reinstate the much needed faith that for anything to be good it does not have to be expensive. I rest my case.
Helpful staff. Claustrophobic rooms. Poor breakfast.

I chose Stallen for a longish stay (15 days) during a corporate visit. While very well located, in a peaceful area of NFS, it has ordinary rooms, poor breakfast (a MUST HAVE in my book) and some weird policies For e.g for a full service stay they offered only one complementary unit of bottled water during the entire stay. Additionally the rooms and the entire hotel has very little natural light filtering in. Which makes it very very dreary. The saving grace? Very helpful, albeit casual staff and some nice places to order from in case you plan to dine in.
Truly WOW with great Comfort

A well kept reasonably priced choice

Stayed here on the last leg of our India tour before we left for SE Asia and it was probably one of the best we stayed in in our time there. The rooms were modern (particularly for India) with Sky television and a contemporary bathroom. It is set out more like a guesthouse in the suburbs of the city but it was decorated to hotel standard, probably only 6 or 8 rooms. We were asked upon check-in if we wanted to pay for breakfast and evening meals and we were glad we agreed because the food was excellent and cheap - authentic vegetarian cuisine cooked in house by friendly staff and chef (be prepared for curry for breakfast and dinner! Although they will accommodate you with cornflakes and toast if you ask). Overall, this is a good, solid, reasonable priced choice in a safe part of the sprawling metropolis that is Delhi.
