Very comfortable stay and friendly and helpful hosts
on Dec 25, 2017
I stayed for 3 nights with family. The food was excellent. The whole place is very clean and well-maintained. Owners were very friendly and helped us in planning our sight-seeing tour. The staff also was very good, and always smiling in service. Overall, we had a very good experience with the Philip couple. I definitely recommend this home stay to other fellow tourists.
Very basic and my following home stats were actually better

The residence is located outside of Munnar with a magnificent look over the tea plantations. I missed a bit of a garden space for yoga or relaxation. The room was very clean, but also basic, no night lamp and only one of the electricity plugs was working. The room lacked any decoration. There was renovation works in the house which caused some noise. Other guests had diner in the joint upper hall very late and woke me up. Food was good, but I felt a bit alone for a home stay. First night that might have been my fault as I slept early due to a migraine, but also 2nd day I only got a brief glimpse of the - surely wonderful - host. As the homestay was booked for me via an agency, I don't know if price & standard of the accommodation was fair.
Lovely outlook over the valley

A charming homestay overlooking cardamom plantations to spectacular valley views. Our room was pleasant and opened onto a spacious guest living area where we ate excellent home cooking. Our hosts were friendly and helpful.

Quiet Homestay with a Beautiful View
on Mar 12, 2017
In the small town of Pallival, just outside of Munnar, we stayed in a lovely homestay in a delux room on the upper floor with a beautiful view of surrounding hills. The owners were friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were quiet, clean and spacious. However, the wi-fi was spotty.
The owner, Mr. Philip, gave us a walking tour of his cardamom plantation (including pepper and coffee) with excellent descriptions of his farming activities. The following day, he showed us how he processed cardamom in his factory and sold it at public auction to wholesalers. Within walking distance, there was a kathakali theater.
The home cooked meals (breakfast and dinner) were tasty and we received help from an assistant who tended to our needs in a private setting.
