Living up to the name
on Apr 2, 2018
The resort truly lives up to the name, so much in harmony with nature. Every detail has been closely looked in to, to keep the name ecotones true. All the staff of the resort were extremely pleasant and friendly. Gives the feeling of home away from home. The resort manager Sooraj was extremely helping and friendly and knows his job. It would be unfair if I don't mention the awesomeness and taste of the food they serve. Hats off to the chef! From ecotones we went to " the leaf resort Munnar" and we actually came back to ecotones for lunch!!! In addition to all this we had a lovely companion Choco the Labrador.
A welcoming, relaxing oasis where you're instantly at home

To Ecotones after a packed few days in Cochin. The perfect contrast: tranquil, idyllic setting, thoughtfully-planted, with incomparably friendly and proficient service from Manoj's excellent team (including Choco the labrador - who kindly took us for a pre-breakfast walk).
An astute concept, a world ( and 40 minutes or so drive) away from the frenzy of Munnar. Home- sourced and prepared food was exceptional, and each meal a new exploration. We spent one night each in a bungalow and mud house, the latter smaller ( owing the reduced roofspan capability), and with a smaller terrace, but cooler on account of the mud brick's properties. Very comfortable beds, huge bath/ shower rooms.
Other guests : largely Brit empty-nesters, bird watchers, yoga devotees.
The pre- dawn ridge hike was taxing but hugely worthwhile to see sunrise and moonset from the top of Chokramudi. Manoj, a learned and experienced guide to the terrain and wildlife. Worth the bouncing jeep trip too around the tea plantation hillsides and the timewarp tea museum, and to observe its eccentric green tea evangelist.
Only Constructive feedback: some attention to ongoing wear and tear would be worthwhile.
Fabulous tree top living

Spent four days here exploring the area around Munnar. The bungalow was perfect, complete with veranda overlooking the valley and ridge opposite. Wonderful views and very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and courteous ( plus a bottle of beer delivered every night). Food and service in the restuarant were first class. Everything was cooked in the traditional manner and delicious. Visited Munnar a few times to see the tea plantations ( incredible ), the tea museum, and the work shops for the “ differently abled “ family members. Fantastic to see how the plantation owners look after their employees. Only a 20 minute drive from Ecotones. After the bustle of Cochin and Munnar Ecotones was so calming and peaceful ( apart from the bird song early morning). Definitely the place to stay for a vid bird watchers.

We had a very relaxing time in this hotel. The staff were great, all so helpful and kind, couldn't do enough for you. The location is wonderful , peaceful and calm. Beautiful scenery. The food was a real highlight , everything they grow in their own garden.
Would definatly return.

We stayed here as part of a 10 day holiday during which we travelled around Kerala. This was by far the best place we stayed. Right from when we arrived, when we were greeted with cold melon juice and provided with a late lunch, to when we left in a taxi which had been organised for us hassle free, our stay was perfect.
All members of staff were friendly and helpful. The activities were fantastic - we did the spice walk and ridge walk, both of which were beautiful and lead by knowledgeable and friendly guides.
The food was fantastic value for money, and definitely the best we had in Kerala.
A brilliant experience!
