Huge discrepancy in Tariff
on Dec 5, 2019
There is a huge difference in amount between online platforms and booking directly.
Stayed for two nights
Service was prompt . Washrooms need cleaning . Nearer to Beach .
Rooms vary from size but price seems to be quite high.

It is a budget property. One should keep it in mind while booking, do not expect 5-star hotel kind of service here.
Room - We booked a Superior room which is a pool facing. Clean, neat with fridge, TV and balcony. Was smelling foul, maybe because of the Rainy season.
Service - Very polite and helpful staff. But you need to ask for everything. TV remote was not working, had to ask for replacement 3-4 time.
Swimming Pool - The best thing so far at this resort. Very well maintained, clean and fresh. We liked it so much.
Restaurant - It seems somebody else is managing this restaurant. Need to pay in cash that too before the end of the day. We really did not like this.
Bike/Car rent - We rented from the restaurant. Good bike but little costly considering offseason. If you have option better get it from outside.
Overall Rating - 4 out of 5. (3 stars for Swimming Pool only). As I said it is a budget property, so keep your expectation realistic. We were there in Sept 2019 so not many guests so had a good experience.
Dona Julia Hotel, Calangute, Goa
on Aug 9, 2019
A clean hotel well stituated about 150 metres from the beach. I would describe it as a mid range hotel rather than a beach resort. There is a swimming pool and a pleasant garden. An open air restaurant at the front has good service at reasonable prices and good food from a varied menu. There are many restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The area has hotels of all standards. The Calangute beach area is about a 15 minute taxi ride from the more upmarket Bagu beach area. I was there in wet season so the beach was extremely rough and not suitable for swimming. It was also very dirty with lots of rubbish. The rooms are basic but with a nice porch area for sitting overlooking the pool area. If you are looking to stay somewhere in the lower price range area it is an option. However if you want to be closer to the action, and much higher prices, Bagu Beach is the area.

I have stayed here many time. The resort has now been taken over by a management company but it is still the same owner.Since my last visit the standard room building has been completely painted hallways and every room.
Rooms have all been updated.New curtains and bedding ,all new lighting, new balcony chairs, extra cushions and chair in room.Overall a much brighter and comfortable room.
The pool and garden area has also been upgraded.lovely flowers and bushes and everything kept neat, tidy and clean. Also restaurant and bar on site.Close to beach, restaurants and shops.
Reception, room staff and gardener all pleasant and helpful.Reservations are now done through the head office.which is efficient quick to reply to any queries, and extremely friendly and helpful.Further renovations planned for other buildings
Overall a very pleasant stay.
