We spent 3 nights at coco shambhala in Goa. It was an amazing experience-beautiful villas, great food, and a lovely location. Most importantly, the people made our trip- Lumen, Savio 2, Suresh,Suhas and Sameer (our excellent driver). They were all exceptional in their hospitality and took particular care of our elderly parents. It was an amazing trip and we would love to come back soon to see them all again. Thank you for looking after us so well.
Simply the best, surpassing all expectations

We have spent 9 nights in Maharashtra location of Coco Shambhala and 5 night in the Goa location. Both have been beyond outstanding.
Maharashtra location is for those who want to get away from the world. Our villa overlooked the Arabian Sea and a jungle. We could see the dolphins and monkeys in one line of sight if using binoculars. Maharashtra location is completely unspoilt with hardly anyone on the beaches and no other western tourists at all. The place is as authentic as it gets in terms of surroundings. The accommodation, service, food and staff and unparalleled. We were treated like royalty. I could get used to this!
The food is freshly made and served at the time of your choosing at your dining table in the villa. The menu is extensive with European, Indian and Far Eastern choices. I have never felt so welcome like I did at Coco Shambhala.
Coco Shambhala Goa is in the heart of things happening. It is an oasis of calmness in otherwise popular and busy tourist location. If you enjoy having things to do, Goa certainly has it all. We loved both locations with our favourite being in Maharashtra due to how unspoilt the surroundings are. The staff, flood, accommodation and service are superb at both locations. This is my new all times favourite. It is more expensive than others but completely worth it. Once you experience Coco Shambhala, you would not want to stay anywhere else in Goa.
Dreamy honeymoon location

We stayed at Coco Shambhala for the first leg of our recent honeymoon and had an absolutely incredible time. Our villa was so beautiful and thoughtfully designed with so much thoughtfulness throughout. The staff were so amazing and knew exactly what was the right level of service. The cooking was sublime, some of the best we ate in India. We cannot wait to visit the other property. Fantastic.
No Words Can Do Justice To This Paradise!

"It is an early morning, Away from you away from me,
Beyond the waves beyond the wind, Beyond the world that we live in,
Under skies of shining stars, Away from lights and noisy cars,
Above the egos and the stress, Beyond the world, we made a mess.
A place for me a place for you, An earth that's green a sky that's blue,
With dreams as solid as the ground, A place like this I think I've found.
Above the waves above the wind, Above the world that we live in,
Above my life above the stress, Where I can lay it all to rest,
Just above the trees and birds, A place I can't describe in words...."
Rightly said, the experience at Coco Shambhala just cannot be described in words.
We were a group of 23 people travelling to celebrate a special occasion in the family between 30th Sept - 4th Oct 2017. We were to stay 2 days in Coco Shambhala Goa followed by 2 days in their new property at Bhogwe Beach (Sindhudurg) which is at a 2-hour distance from Goa.
Both properties, however, can comfortably sleep only 20 - which was made clear to us by Giles. So, we made special arrangements to accommodate the balance 3 guests ourselves (by carrying extra sleeping bags) and thank can't thank Giles enough for allowing us to do so.
We got in touch with Giles almost 2 months back and from the word go, he and the rest of the staff were on top of their game. The communication was excellent and all of them went to great lengths to have everything in place including sleeping arrangements, menus, travel plans, etc in place well before we got there.
So, here's my experience for Coco Shambhala - Goa ( the Bhogwe Beach property reviewed separately)
On landing in Goa, we were received by 4 Innovas at the airport that transferred us to the property. Once settled in the Villas, for getting around, we were provided with local taxis - 1 per Villa (and more on request) at a very nominal charge. The property itself is quite central and all the happening restaurants of north goa are at a distance of 15 to 30 minutes.
We were welcomed at the property with a scrumptious breakfast and pitchers of Sangria which totally hit the spot for hungry travellers at 8 am.
The 4 Villas - 2 having one configuration and 2 another, were more beautiful than one can imagine. Very practical yet very tastefully done up, the rooms are a perfect blend of functionality, comfort and style. The bathrooms are luxuriously large and there is a lot of extra storage space for one's luggage in each room. The seating areas are well appointed and comfortable for large groups with a Bose sound dock provided in each villa while the kitchen is well equipped with crockery, cutlery, gas stove, etc - In short, there's nothing that hasn't been thought of including providing a coffee french press and gourmet coffee in each villa. The Villas are immaculately clean and the ground staff are very efficient in their jobs - a fact that was substantiated when they were there to clean up the place within minutes of it raining - ensuring that the floors were swept dry so to avoid anyone from slipping or falling. Sadly, nobody got to use the plunge pools but I can say this, without doubt, even though being surrounded by greenery, they are the cleanest plunge pools that I have ever seen.
The pool on its own is large and fun. The family spent a lot of time in there and again, were thoroughly impressed by the cleanliness. They even provided us with plastic glasses (NOT the cheap variety) for having drinks by the poolside.
Coming to the food - what can I say, I have never eaten better food in Goa in all my visits (and I've had a few). We were to have only our Breakfast at the property and were booked at 4 different restaurants for our lunches and dinners during our 2 days in Goa out of which we cancelled both dinners as the food was so good at Coco that nobody wanted to step out. The breakfast is one of the best spreads I've seen in all my travels with something for everyone. Leaving aside the normal fruit platter, juices, bread baskets, waffles, pancakes & eggs as per choice (which were cooked to perfection if I may add) they added a local dish to the spread each day which was very much appreciated by all the guests. It's one thing having a large selection but it's another to have everything of that large selection tasting equally delicious.
The 2 dinners organised at a last minute notice were simply fantastic.
Kudos to the kitchen staff for the great job they do. The food review wouldn't be complete without a special thanks to Shagun who's the brain behind all the food - you rock!!!
The property has a small functional spa with 2 therapists. Being a large group it was impossible to find time slots for full fleged massages but everyone did manage a head or foot massage which was adequate by any standard.
Now for the best assets of Coco Shambhala - the STAFF. I cannot begin to describe how efficient and caring all of them are. Lumen, Suhas, Suresh, Savio 1 & 2 - you guys are totally the backbone of this paradise called Coco Shambhala. I can't say enough for all your effort and help in making our stay there absolutely perfect. I know we weren't an easy group to deal with but you made sure that you took care of every whim and fancy of ours and did so with such sweet smiles on your faces. From the moment we entered Goa till the time you handed us over to the team at Coco Shambhala Bhogwe - all of you were simply brilliant. Thank you, guys !!
The downside (IF ANY) is the pool temperature (weather dependent) - which is something beyond anyone's control and the weak WiFi - which I guess one can ignore if the idea is to truly relax at a vacation.
To sum it all up - if I were to go back to Goa, budget allowing, I don't think I'd be able to settle for any place other than Coco Shambhala anymore. They've set a benchmark that is difficult to reach let alone beat. I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit Goa and have an experience of a lifetime.

Coco shambala is excellent . The place is literally hand crafted ! The food is some of the best in goa , especially the Goan sea food Thali . The architecture is very soothing and sets the tone for a relaxed holiday . The service is personal and top notch . Lumen , Suhas , Suresh and all the members take care of every small detail . Looking forward to the property in Sindhudurg .
