    The hotel is an excellent place to stay in hotel. Colonial ambience very very big rooms. The breakfast is awesome. The staff here are well mannered and professional. Every day they clean the room meticulously changed the linens daily In particular we wolud like to comment on sri rajeevlochan who is gem of the staff. Only downside is food price. The avg food cost for 6 is around 2100 comparing to much better food and quality of puri hotel which is around 1600 including fish ! Overall i would like to rate it 5* but for price of food 1 rating is deducted... More

    Best Hotel at Puri

    Chanakya BNR Hotel located very conveniently near Railway station, Swargadwar and Jagganath temple. This is heritage hotel blended with all modern amenities:- Banquet Hall Restaurant, Bar, Fitness center,impeccably maintained lawn and Swimming pool. The ambiance of the hotel is wonderful. Hospitality is superb. The team lead by Mr Sukanta Maitra, fondly known as 'Maitrada' is always ready to help all guests with a smile. Food is one of the best specially the continental food. It is true value for money. The property is the oldest building of Railways upgraded with all facilities. To name a few Pt. Jhawar lal Nehru, Padmaja Naidu, Jacqulene Kennedy, and many Maharajas had visited and stayed in the hotel. Any one decides to stay in this heritage hotel will have no regret. Next time will spend couple of days more during vacation... More

    Old World Charm wrapped in.

    Chanakya BNR Hotel, Puri is a unique hotel with old world charm wrapped all over. The wide portico with Red Indian patent stone flooring. The arched supports on passages and doorways, wooden louvers on verandas sporting wooden balustrades, polished wooden staircases, caned arm chairs on the portico, make the place exude elegance. The immaculately manicured gardens added to the ambiance. What we missed was the sea view which has now been blocked with a new construction coming up between the hotel and the sea. The spacious rooms have been done up well in a utilitarian fashion. The toilets are basic and well designed, though slightly cramped. Maintenance needs a bit of improvement, though complaints were promptly attended. The service is always with a smile. The dining experience was mixed. We felt that the wait was a bit too long and quickly learned to order the food in advance to avoid the wait. The Continental servings were excellent as were the Chinese food. The Indian servings could have been better. The ambiance in the dining hall was excellent. The sea beach is about 5-7 minutes’ walk away and is relatively clean and not too crowded, unlike the main beach near Sargwadhar. A fishing village at the end of the beach offers you the simple joy of seeing fisherman bring in and land their hauls pf silver harvest. The sea at Puri, is ever inviting, whether for a bath of simply staring at the sea. The Hotel is very conveniently located just about half a kilometre from the railway station. The normal auto charge (4 seater) is Rs. 60.00 but they may ask for higher prices to be negotiated. A trip to Sargadwar costs Rs. 80.00 as does a trip to Juggernaut temple, main gate. Trip to other gates of the temple may cost considerably more.You are left with a feeling of being looted by the auto drivers. If you want to offer Puja at the Temple, the Hotel will help you to find a Panda (Temple Priest). If you desire trips to Konark and Bhubaneswar, the hotel desk can arrange. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel and would surely stay there if we visit Puri again.... More

    Heritage - Repackaged

    The first things that come to my mind are Heritage,Space (& lots of it),Clean,Well located, Value for money,Staff Courtesy,More Space !! & Decent amount of greenery.The area's where they need improvement are Dining (Not quantity but quality) and probably Commencement of a Poolside Bar (since the location is so nice & relaxing) Overall all their staff are very good but two people need special mention i.e. Rajiv (House-Keeping) & Dhaneshwar (Restaurant) who went out of their way to make our stay that much more relaxed & comfortable.I do not intend to stay anywhere else in Puri on my bi-annual trip's because of the ambiance here.I hope they re-introduce some of the heritage rail food items like Railway Mutton Curry,etc....     Visited in the month of April too hot there .Very nice and large rooms well appointed and clean. Beautiful compound well kept. Old world charm well preserved. Food,room service, staffs was very good. Pool was also very beautiful and clean enjoyed lot and spent 2 hour at pool.... More

Overview

Chanakya BNR hotel situated in Ranchi features Samrat, a restaurant which serves a variety of cuisines.   3. The standard check-in and check-out times are 12 noon. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to hotel availability and may also be chargeable by the hotel. Any early check-in or late check-out request must be directed to and reconfirmed with the hotel directly.
  4. Failure to check-in to the hotel, will attract the full cost of stay or penalty as per the hotel cancellation policy.
  5. Hotels charge a compulsory Gala Dinner Supplement during Christmas, New Year's eve or other special events and festivals like Diwali or Dusshera. These additional charge are not included in the booking amount and will be collected directly at the hotel.
  6. There might be seasonal variation in hotel tariff rates during Peak days, for example URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the room tariff differences if any will have to be borne and paid by the customer directly at the hotel, if the booking stay period falls during such dates.
  7. All additional charges other than the room charges and inclusions as mentioned in the booking voucher are to be borne and paid separately during check-out. Please make sure that you are aware of all such charges that may comes as extras. Some of them can be WiFi costs, Mini Bar, Laundry Expenses, Telephone calls, Room Service, Snacks etc.
  8. Some hotels may have policies that do not allow unmarried / unrelated couples or certain foreign nationalities to check-in without the correct documentation.   11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
