Good location, decent ambiance, friendly staff, refreshing stay!

Location and Connectivity: Very good
Had a two-day official trip to Kolkata and opted for this Hotel after checking quite a few options. Needed proximity to the Airport since I had to receive guests. Also, wanted a place which would be well connected to the rest of the city. This one pretty much did the job.
Special mention: The Hotel was nice enough to arrange transport for me and my guests to the airport on a short notice, when our travel agency had a scuffle with me.
Room Décor and Amenities: Good
I booked the Suite Premium Room which although I felt was steeply priced, had a nice feel to it. It was tidy, with lot of space. Also I really liked the way they had set up the room with some very fancy furniture especially the comfy bed and the swanky sofa. The washroom was clean, and perfect for a cold shower after a hectic day.
The Room came with complimentary Wi-Fi which I initially had some problems connecting but the staff quickly resolved that issue. Room Service was decent.
I found the staff polite and courteous. Being a Bengali helped. Most of them were locals. The Manager was very helpful in setting up the conference room for my guests. The staff I feel need to be more informative and multilingual so that they can attend guests from different parts of India and even foreign tourists.
Food and Dining: Good but needs more variety and also include more vegetarian options.
I did checkout their restaurant Advieh (quite a fancy name!) and the food was nice especially the non-veg section. Some of my vegetarian colleagues though were not very happy. The Manager had informed me of some of their specialty dishes and I made sure to get those on the table. Make sure you order the “dal makhmali” and “chili basil prawns.” The breakfast buffet (complimentary) was pretty decent, although I felt they can introduce more variety there.
Entertainment and Recreation: Great
In the evening, I wanted to visit some club or vintage bar but was too tired to travel. That’s when I thought of visiting their bar (High Street). I did not have much expectation to start with but was pretty satisfied with what I got. The ambience was good and the bar had Happy Hours! (Icing on the cake). The music was easy and soothing and unlike those loud places. I and my friends could actually hear each other. I ordered Beers, Whiskey Sour, LIT and all of this did not burn a big hole in my pocket. The Bar snacks could be improved.
When in Kolkata, do give this one a try. Cheers!
Restaurant and hotel

It’s a bad experience in my travel life. Service was too bad . Service guy don’t no how to speak with guest. Cutlery was too dirty. Food was not good. Food was not healthy. In the menu continental food was there and no chef was there to make and oriental food also.
Horrifying experience... To be avoided like plague

I stayed for a night at this hotel (they should stop calling themselves that) last week on my way back to Thiruvananthapuram from Dhaka.
I checked in around 10:45 PM. I was given Room number 705 on their top floor. The moment I got of the elevator, I was hit by loud ear-splitting music and sounds of a party in full swing. There were totally drunk teenage guys and girls all along the corridor, some wandering in and out of the party hall on the same floor. Some were quarreling and others were in various stages of getting physically close.
The noise from the party was very loud and disturbing within my room even after I had closed the door. In a few minutes, there was loud banging on my door and as I opened it, a totally drunk party goer stumbled into my room about to puke. As I pushed him out, his fellow party-goers pulled him away. I tried informing the reception and found to my dismay that the telephone in my room was not working. By this time, I was dead tired and terribly hungry. Since their restaurant was closed,I called the hotel pone from my mobile and asked to be connected to room service but was instead connected to front office and they promptly sent up a person to take my order. I gave a very simple order for steamed rice, lentils and vegetable curry (which happened to be the only vegetarian menu available at that hour) and was told the order would be fulfilled in 15 minutes. The time then was 11:00 PM.
By 12:00 midnight, my dinner had not yet arrived... I was going mad with hunger and dinner finally arrived at 00:10 hrs... reason given "all staff busy with party" .
Now, a word about the room.... The room looked a bit run down. Walls were beginning to show signs of ageing. Toilet floor was not uniformly clean with dark brown stains in patches on the floor. Operating the flush was a hit-or-miss affair with me having to try multiple times to get the flush working. Maybe because I was on the top floor, water pressure in tap and shower was insufficient. Amenities in bath were sparse.
Breakfast the next morning was another horror story. Breakfast buffet was announced as between 7 AM and 10:30 AM. I was at the restaurant by 9:30 and all I found were some guests scraping the bottom of the vessels containing the few items made available. I found a few pieces of cold and oily poori and a watery, cold lentil curry to go with it and had to make do with the same for breakfast.
The funniest part was when the front desk manager gave me a feedback form after a cursory and lame apology for the previous night's fiasco.. which I promptly returned unfilled.
NO... I AM NEVER EVER GOING BACK TO THIS HOTEL.

Good for short stay/transit
on Jul 4, 2017
This hotel is a good option for anyone looking for transit and want to catch an early flight. Rooms are exactly as shown in the pictures. Bed was comfortable. Their service could be better. We asked for double bed but they gave us a room with twin beds. Although they quickly joint the beds when we reminded them. The receptionist didn't seem very friendly- no smile! The breakfast was decent, nothing remarkable.
Travelers can take a taxi or uber (about 120-150 rupees) to the hotel from airport, which is a way LOT cheaper than the hotel car (about 550+ rupees one way).
I would recommend this hotel only for short stay.
