    Disappointing, rude and unclean

    My girlfriend and I arrived at the hotel early and paid extra to check in to a room upon arrival. Not only was the original room not made, the bedsheets in our second room were stained with yellow blotches. We woke up to find our clothes, camera and other electronics (which were left on the luggage rack) soaked with water due to an AC leak. We brought the matter to the owner, Andrha Bhawani, who not only laughed but told me it’s not his problem and to take it up with the air conditioning company. He then offered no help and told me to dry my clothes on the roof. The other staff members tried to be helpful but their manager was clearly ambivalent to providing decent customer service. We were then moved to our third room (in 24hrs), here the AC was stuck at 19 degrees and once again the bed stains had dark brown stains. If you want to ensure you have a decent stay in one of our favourite cities in India, DO NOT STAY HERE. 0/5, if possible.... More

    Thank you for a good stay in the heart of Udaipur. I am very surprised over all the bad reviews. You pay for what you get! This is a cheap hotel with standard thereafter.     We stayed here a couple of nights. There were quite a few filthy corners in the room when we checked in. The fridge was super disgusting- impossible to use. The bedsheets had stains and spots everywhere. When asked, the staff was very zealous to clean everything. However we had to ask 4 times to get new towels. What really annoyed us (and what is only connected to the hotel indirectly) was the fact that this hotel was booked for us via an OYO travel agent. The encounter with this person was the worst on our whole journey through India. He was very dishonest, completely incompetent and sent us to super expensive hotels (which we did not want) to get higher commissions for himself. Please be very cautious of the OYO agency. Our experience was absolutely awful!!!!! Also it is very noisy in the Baba Palace. You need to put in earplugs if you want to have a quite night. There are so many hotels closer to the water for less money. Also the laundry was quite expensive. One bag cost almost 1000 INR. In other hotels we often payed half of that for the same amount of clothes. The view from the rooftop is nice but the food is not. The included “breakfast” is a joke. Maybe it is better if you order something extra but we rather ate somewhere else. Also a bottle of water is relatively expensive with 30 INR per liter whereas it’s 20 INR everywhere else.     We were whisked here by someone from Janak villas hotel, which we had actually booked but our booking was taken over by Bollywood crew without notifying us. From the minute we walked in the service was horrendous. We were told by the guy that he would take us to his ‘other hotel’ but when we got there he just proceeded to dish up his lunch and didn’t even pass us or our predicament over to the reception. We were offered a room at a higher rate than that of our online booking, when we disputed this they downgraded the room on offer to us and didn’t seem obliging or amused. The room itself had filthy bed sheets. Yellow pillow cases and stains all over the sheets. When asked to change them a guy took the duvet cover off and went away. He never came back. I asked the receptionist several times for a new cover but she looked at me like I was mad and said that’s how it should be. After lots of asking they brought a new duvet. Even dirtier. It was like someone had had a whole dinner plus coffee in it the night before, huge stains and worn brown dirt marks around the edges, rank. After asking for the receptionist to come and check it to see if she thought that was acceptable she just sent someone up with another duvet. Again dirty. They were just moving them around from room to room, not getting a fresh cover from the laundry. Baffling and filthy. The general state of the room wasn’t great either. The walls were filthy, the taps in the sink didn’t work, AC was barely cold and the electricity cut at night. We were told we could only have one device access to the WiFi. When she couldn’t connect my phone to it she told me it was my fault and tough cookies, she wouldn’t give me another code. Great customer service there again. The whole place was full of Bollywood crew who are clearly way more important than their main business or reputation. I don’t even know how they made it into the lonely planet! We found somewhere new to stay and stayed only the first night of the 3 planned. When we told the reception that we’d be leaving in the morning due to terrible service they were completely indifferent. Terrible until the end. We can definitely overlook a lot of things, especially when travelling in India, but this atrocious service and indifference was too much.   5. Hotels charge a compulsory Gala Dinner Supplement during Christmas, New Year's eve or other special events and festivals like Diwali or Dusshera. These additional charge are not included in the booking amount and will be collected directly at the hotel.
  6. There might be seasonal variation in hotel tariff rates during Peak days, for example URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the room tariff differences if any will have to be borne and paid by the customer directly at the hotel, if the booking stay period falls during such dates.
  7. All additional charges other than the room charges and inclusions as mentioned in the booking voucher are to be borne and paid separately during check-out. Please make sure that you are aware of all such charges that may comes as extras. Some of them can be WiFi costs, Mini Bar, Laundry Expenses, Telephone calls, Room Service, Snacks etc.
  8. Some hotels may have policies that do not allow unmarried / unrelated couples or certain foreign nationalities to check-in without the correct documentation.   9. Note PAN Cards will not be accepted as a valid ID card.
  10. All refund requests must occur within 60 days of hotel check-out. Any refund for checking out early or for no shows will be given at the sole discretion of goomo.com.
  11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
  12. Goomo acts purely as an agent to hotels/suppliers, hence Goomo shall not be responsible for issuance of any invoices on hotel room charges.
