Cancel your trip rather than staying at Aroma Cottage

It was more of a lodge than being called a hotel.Quite interior without proper parking facilities. The premises is very poorly maintained and untidy.Rooms were stinking with fungal patches on walls and ceilings. No room service only a mobile no. provided in case you want something. What more as we traveled to Lonavala when there was torrential rain, rain water seeped in one of the rooms booked by us.Towel changed and housekeeping service provided on request. As we could not see the swimming pool when asked on 'Swimming Pool' the hotel staff did not have any idea.Furniture defective as the bed in room no. 103 caused a huge crackling sound when somebody and finally I am not sure whether the property where we were made to stay was Lalit Hills or Aroma Cottage. One should cancel the trip rather than staying in Aroma Cottage
Poor hygiene and cleanliness
on Jun 26, 2017
We made a last minute booking at a very high price for overnight stay since it was the long weekend in June and almost all other hotels were sold out. At the given price we expected some minimum standards of hygiene and cleanliness, but none existed.
The kitchen sink had stains left by the previous guests and we had to get the it cleaned. The bed sheets had not been changed since the last check out. They were dirty and stained. The blanket provided was also dirty. We asked for fresh bed sheets and blankets which they tried to provide later in the night. The bed sheet was all right but the blanket was a single one instead of double blanket. On inquiring, I was told that the double blanket they had in store had holes in it due to damage caused by some previous guest. After this we tried to sleep but discovered that there was a stink coming from the bed once you laid down on it. Unfortunately, we had to tolerate this as we had no other option.
The bathroom had no soap, towel or tissue paper roll available. The mug handle was broken as well. Tissue paper and soap was made available on request.
Since there was no intercom available, we had to walk from our room to the service out house every time we needed something. This was a high inconvenience.
WiFi is available and we could log into the hot spot. However, internet was not working.
The property consists of six 3BHK duplex row-villas and is best suited for large groups (>4 pax). Each villa has a large hall and 3 bed rooms with attached bathrooms. Basic amenities like AC, TV and hot water are available in all bedrooms/bathrooms. A fridge, microwave and kitchen sink are available in the hall. Only tea/coffee/drinking water are made available in the room. There is no other restaurant/meal facilities available. You can however order from outside / bring your own food. Plates, glasses and utensils are available on request.
The property is a bit interior from the main road. The last 100ft of the approach road is broken and in very bad shape. Private parking is available within the property, but if you have hired a cab with driver, it needs to be parked outside. There are no driver facilities (in case you have hired a cab with driver).

It is an OK type place to stay.. But with all other resorts charging much higher so comparing to it this is OK.. We stayed for a night since we were damn tired after our shirdi trip we didn't enjoy the facilities in this cottage.. Swimming pool looks OK.. Interior of the room didn't look good.. Toilets were clean.. Location of the cottage makes it not for a night walk.. Beware of dogs nearby.. Renovation needed inside rooms..

I enjoyed my stay at Aroma. It is a comfortable and decent place to stay. The rooms are clean and cosy. They have a nice swimming pool. They keep rabbits; I went outside in the morning to find rabbits hopping all around me! So cute... They don't provide food. We ate out and carried ample water, drinks and snacks with us. They give tea in the morning for Rs 25 per cup. That's costly! The staff is helpful and polite. They have ample parking space. Overall, great bungalow to stay within budget.
