Arco Iris - the best non-beach Goa holiday that money can buy !
on Dec 25, 2017
"There is more to Goa then beaches", and to get a taste of a non beach holiday and enjoy the other side of Goa, you need to look no further than Arco Iris. This beautifully restored Goan home situated by the side of a lake that is a bird watcher's paradise is the perfect holiday getaway. Located midway, Arco Iris offers you the best of both North and South Goa. Access to some of the best beaches and wildlife sanctuaries.
Beni is a fabulous host, giving you the space to enjoy your holiday, but always on hand to help with suggestions on which restaurant to visit or beach or other places of interest. Her recommendations were always spot on.
The homestay is superbly appointed with great attention to detail and is aesthetic and decorated with taste and substance.
Would strongly recommend to those looking for a good healthy break from the pressures of everyday life.

Excellent place!!! We enjoyed our stay in Arco Iris. The place is homely and place is stocked with loads of books and gentle music in the background. Benita the owner of the property took care of our stay and made sure our travel around Goa is was planned to our taste, she guided us to local places and bakery.

Most refreshing and amazing stay in Goa
on Nov 26, 2017
I've been to Goa many times, however this time the Goa experience has been an unexpected and unimaginably awesome one for us. We stayed at Arco iris, a place surrounded by nature, beauty, grace, a beautiful lake, healing and joyful energies. The stay was simply beautiful. Such a large, peaceful, graceful, beautiful, clean, organic and well maintained property. Love the interiors, the books, the food, the welcome by warm and loving family and owners Benny, Ganesh, kids and the adorable dog Fenny. It's truly a wonderful experience to stay here with friends, family or even solo.
Relaxing Goan getaway

My parents and I had an excellent stay at Arco Iris. We stayed in the yellow room which overlooks the balcao, the gardens and the lake. The room and bathroom were well-lit and had everything we needed. Our only complaint would be that the thick walls - while affording privacy to the room - also blocked out the wifi signal. So we spent a lot of time in the balcao catching up on our email, chatting up the other visitors and playing with Beni and Ganesh's sweet dog Fenny.
On foot, we did a lot of birding and visited the St Alex Church and Zuari river. For our visits to the Benaulim and Palolem beaches, Jilla bakery, Rachol seminary, Braganza mansion, etc., we hired a car + driver. We found the rates for this to be higher in Goa generally than in other parts of India so we would recommend bringing your own vehicle if possible (we know we will!).
Beni is an incredible host who is thoroughly organized and well-informed. She gave us a list of things to do in Goa organized by location and we had many conversations to help finalize our plans for each day. The staff at Arco are similarly very friendly and professional and we enjoyed the food we had there.
We had split our Goa trip into a south Goa stay (at Arco Iris) and a north Goa stay on the beach so that we could get the best of both worlds. We strongly recommend doing this if you are also looking to do touristy things in town in addition to relaxing in nature. I look forward to my next visit!
