A Hidden Beauty - Far Away from Beaches and Tourist Locations
on Dec 18, 2017
I have been a regular visitor of this Hotel since 2009, mostly with my parents. This time I stayed with my aged mom in the 2nd week of December.
Location: This place is on Chogm Road, Alto Porvorim close to National Highway about 15 minutes drive from Mapusa (North Goa)and 15 minutes from Panjim, but far from the beaches and tourist places in Goa, therefore unless you have a good source of transportation this is not a convenient location.
Most of the Travel buses halt about 10 minutes walk from this Hotel.
Airport is about 45 minutes from this location.
Intracity Travel in Goa is very expensive if you do not own a vehicle. You can rent a car or bike for sightseeing. Hiring a tourist vehicle is pretty expensive as well.
If you are on budget and are ready to try the local transport which is private buses, are affordable but are over crowded most of the times.
From the Hotel, you can walk to the nearest bus stop and you can get a ride till Mapusa or Panjim. You will have to do multiple bus hopping to get to beaches etc.
Cleanliness - The room was spacious and clean. House keeping does a daily cleaning. The quality of rooms have improved greatly since 2009. The rooms have all the basic amenities - Fan, a/c, TV, cupboard, Coffee maker, locker.
Staff - The staff is pretty courteous, friendly and helpful.
Restaurant - There is an attached restaurant and you also get food served in the room with an additional cost. The restaurant is pretty decent but there are several restaurants close by as well.
There are small shops near the Hotel for your daily requirements. There are few residential complexes and houses in the vicinity.
Salon, Icecream parlor, veg restaurant, Bata shop, Mishra sweets etc are closeby.
Facilities in the Hotel - Swimming pool, fitness room (i do not trust the machines though)and games room. Small open space besides the pool side for drinks and eating.
Complementary drop and pick up to Panjim and Calangute at specific time only.
Do I recommend it? - Definitely! I have always stayed with my aged parents here and they have enjoyed the peaceful and serene atmosphere here. This has been my go to Hotel since 2009. The rates of this Hotel are very competitive and I would recommend
But, if you are looking for something closer to tourist places or close to beaches this is not the place for you.
If you like sitting in the veranda in the evening and enjoy the evening serenity this is the place for you. If you are a party or those adventurous kinds this might not be the place for you.
I have seen newly wed couples, couples, foreign nationals, families and groups stay in this hotel. So I assume it addresses needs of variety of visitors.
To MakemyTrip - I did not get a kit at check-in.
Suggestion to Make My Trip - Please get some deals with Hotels for flexibility in check in and check out. I had to spend 8 hours outside as my return bookings were at 8:30 pm and the check out is at 12 pm. Although, the Hotel was kind enough and allowed us to spend time besides their swimming pool its a bit too much to spend 8 hours outside.
Thanks for reading my review. Hope it gave you some insight of this place.
If you are a first timer to Goa, please beware from some weirdos at the beaches. You might find some offensive tourists (Indian and Non-Indians) in Goa.
Have a great stay in Goa.

Well we visited this last year. The Hotel had sent a cab to pick us up at the airport. The rooms are nice and comfy . The breakfast is buffet and had different varieties every day like Idly ,Paranthas, Corn flakes, fruits and tea/coffee/ milk.Since our kid was small, we requested if they would add some ghee to the Idlis which they readily obliged.Even dinner too the staff took extra care for all the days we stayed to suggest vegetarian options along with super soft rice with plan Dal and ghee for kids. The swimming pool is kept clean and though not big, it's nice. They have a shuttle to go up to Calangute beach. They also arranged tickets for us to take boat ride and were helpful in suggesting the places to visit.Definately will return if we visit Goa again.
