Great accommodation in individual cottages with splendid views over the surrounding countryside. The food was good and the staff attentive. A great are for visiting a tea plantation and factory. Very peaceful.

Having read reviews of Ambady we were not disappointed. It has a lovely location with wonderful views from the cottages which are well spaced out.Ir was a jot to sit outside and drink in the views. We liked the interior of the cottages as they were well thought out and very spacious.
The grounds are amazing and we were lucky enough to go on a bird walk with their naturalist who was great and we were really lucky to spot a great number of birds.
The dining room was interesting and the menu varied and dishes were easily changed to suit tastes.
Overall a great place to stay with warm welcoming staff.
Relaxed and friendly oasis

Such a cool (temperature), relaxing and friendly place - we loved it. The 'bungalow' room was fantastic: spacious, comfortable, high-ceilinged, nicely furnished/decorated, good facilities. Sitting outside looking out over the hills and plantation was lovely. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the friendly staff eager to please. Wifi only worked in the restaurant but that was fine. Our only suggestion for improvement would be softer or dimmable lighting in the restaurant so it feels less like a canteen at dinner time. They did this for the amazing Diwali dinner and such a little change made a big difference.
Wonderful and Perfect!

We absolutely loved Ambady Estates. My husband and I spent two nights in October and everything was perfect. The people that work there are friendly and attentive. Our room and the property were beautiful, and the food was absolutely delicious.
We arrived around 3:00, were greeted and taken to our room. At 4:00 we joined a walk around the property which was very informative and the property is beautiful.
It was Diwali, and after the walk the manager called our room and asked us if we could please come to dinner at 7:15 as they had a surprise for us. When we arrived, we and the other guests were asked to light the Diwali candles that lined the front of the building, then we were given sparklers and treated to a small fireworks celebration. Afterwards we were escorted inside to a fantastic feast. It was a very special way to celebrate Diwali in India!
The next morning we woke to the sounds of birds and the call to morning prayers in the background. It was magical! After breakfast I talked to our driver and said that I had 3 wishes for the day, 1) I wanted to go in to the tea museum in Munnar and buy tea, 2) I wanted to walk through a tea plantation for awhile and take pictures, but not on an organized tour, and 3) I wanted to just come back to Ambady Estates and spend the rest of the day reading and enjoying this beautiful place. Our driver made all of my wishes come true. He was wonderful too.
We had to leave early the next morning, but I wish we could have spent one more day just enjoying this beautiful, peaceful place. If we had more appropriate hiking clothes I probably would have done a little hiking in the area as well. It really was perfect. Thank you to everyone at Ambady Estates!
Lovely hotel with a beautiful little restaurant

We loved the rooms and setting but the little restaurant with amazing local food was the beautiful highlight. Great service and well explained local dishes which made our stay so good. Just a shame we only had two nights. Thanks to everyone.
