peace and relaxing in quality surroundings
on Dec 26, 2017
this was a second visit, previously travelling in December 2016
this hotel does not fail to deliver on a quality and service. all staff friendly and efficient from housekeeping, bar staff, pool staff and club staff...and the gardeners shouldn't be forgotten either.
the hotel is well maintained and clean. the gardens are lovely and very professionally maintained ...the patch in front of our room terrace room, watered and groomed every morning.
we had a ground floor terrace club room which was large and more enough space for two, with a medium size lounge area, giant bed and a very large separate bathroom...with bath and walk in rain shower. plenty of storage for clothes although a lack of hangers in the wardrobes.
the terrace merges with the garden with pool which made it feel very special ( note no access from terrace to pool)
as part of the package was the all day breakfast , which we frequently took as a brunch...the variety meant we never got bored in a two week stay. the evening sundowner was excellent and there was no shortage of drinks served.
we ate in both in the bistro and spice restaurants and can recommend both. they shouldn't be missed.
the hotel is ten minute walk from miles of a fabulous beaches ( or a couple minute ride in a free hotel shuttle....on the beach you will find beach shack bar/restaurants which are friendly and serve
the hotel is situated in a small village with additional restaurants very convenient. never a bad meal, just some better than others.
although a rustic area, found every one friendly and felt safe walking at all times.
whilst drinking you sun dowers , watch for the display from the swifts, the large bats and the cavorting of the mongoose. oh and don't forget your mossie spray.
the private transfers from airport and hotel and the return trip were undertaken in good quality vehicles and great drivers ... felt safe in some crazy traffic.
would recommend this hotel for those who want something special and for peace and calm.
5 star relaxation

We’ve just returned from our first holiday to Goa and stay at The Alila Diwa. This is an amazing hotel and all the water features create a calm and relaxing atmosphere but it’s the staff who made our stay exceptional. From our initial enquiry to Siddharth Savkur prior to booking, to the responsiveness of Chadwick and Sherwood to information requests prior to arrival, the welcoming reception and our stay at Alila Diwa, the attentiveness and care of the staff was nothing but extraordinary! Chadwick and Sherwin deserve a special mention as they added the ‘personal touch’ to our stay by helping us to ensure it was the perfect family holiday - our thanks to both of you and the wonderful team of staff you lead all very polite, friendly and attentive..... nothing was too much trouble.
The cleanliness and ambience of any hotel is always key and Alila Diwa was exemplary. The interconnecting loft rooms we were kindly allocated, definitely added to our experience.
It was the best sleep we’ve had in a hotel: the beds were amazing and the pillows were perfect.
Edge Bar and Pool: infinity pool was fabulous and sunset views from the Edge Bar were breathtaking
Rajput folk music: a wonderful last evening being entertained under the stars by this very talented quartet
Food and beverages: excellent variety
Beach transfers: worked very well and we never had to wait more than 5 minutes at the beach side if we had to wait at all.
Taxi drivers: punctual and informative - special thanks to Rosario who was the best of a very good bunch
All in all a PERFECT family holiday at an amazing hotel made all the more special by Chadwick and Sherwin’s attentiveness; Thank you to you both and your wonderful team and wishing you, and all the staff, a wonderful Christmas and I hope you get to spend some time with your own families too while you’re busily making your guests’ Christmas extraordinary.
PS if you’re looking for a relaxing, scenic holiday South Goa and the Alila Diwa is the perfect combination
Wonderful hotel with fantastic staff

We're just back from a lovely pre-Christmas break at this hotel and can't praise it enough. We stayed in the Diwa Club and benefitted from a generous suite with balcony. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. The private pool for the Club never felt crowded. All the staff were helpful and took pride in their work but a special mention must go to Ilandro who provided superb service and was generally wonderful. He knew what we wanted before we did but was never ingratiating or in the way.

Beautiful hotel, good location, spatious and calm rooms, very nice pool and gardens. The room bathrooms have no privacy, since there are no soundproof doors. Boys serving at breakfast and restaurants are lazy, unorganized and don't understand english well. The shop staff is very upolite and they try to cheat you by all means. They say they have fixed prices but they don't. The manager is particulaly dishonest. It's a shame that such a good hotel has a shop like this running inside it's buildings.
