    Friendly service. Light 3 course lunch: goats cheese started with slithers of white truffle is superb. Gazpacho of peppers and strawberry is quite sweet but refreshing. Roast duck or trout main. Their famous walnut soufflé glacé with walnut liqueur is as always perfect. 35 Euro is pricey for a light lunch but is a wonderful treat. As for a table on the edge of the terrace closest to the view. Fields hills and river to gaze over.... More

    A gem of a hotel

    The location is superb (book a room with a view over the Dordogne valley) with the whole place exuding charm and supplying exceptional service. We dined on the terrace watching the sun set with hot air balloons rising above Domme from the valley below. Dishes were beautifully presented and totally delicious. Our bedroom was comfortable with a wonderful modern mattress on top of an antique bed. Give yourself a treat and book a stay.... More

    A great view but then what???

    The Esplanade hotel has been run by the same family for three generations and has an incredible view of the nearby valley and river, however that is where the charm ends. The present director of the hotel occasionally ignores her guests and appears to have some degree of contempt for them. This seems to permeate to the kitchen where the food is served with theatrical fanfare in the dining room but is void of flavour, as the chef appears to simply be going through the motions. It’s no surprise to learn that the chef is the husband of the director who ignores her clients. The hotel is in need of a change. The bed is reasonably comfortable and the view from the room is amazing. The pillows are below standard and do not provide adequate support or comfort to the neck and need to be improved.... More

    Quaint Rooms, Exceptional View, Snooty Staff

    We booked 3 nights at L'Esplanade, overlooking the Vallee Dordogne. The rooms were quaint and the view was everything we hoped for. We found most everyone in France to be extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone except Sofia, the woman at the front desk at Hotel L'Esplanade. She was single handedly perpetuatingFrance's reputation for being snooty. On our first evening, the restaurant was closed. When we asked for recommendations, Sofia told us that she had no idea, we would just have to go look around town ourselves. The next day we had problems opening the safe. Usually there are instructions attached to the outside of the safe, but none were there. When we asked for some assistance, Sofia huffily came up to our room and pointed out that there were instructions on page 16 of their manual. We got to the point that we avoided the front desk altogether. I would have to say we enjoyed the hotel and enchanting view in spite of Sofia. But really, I'm sure there are many lodges in Dordogne that are happy to have guests.... More

Overview

Located in the serene surroundings of Candolim Beach, this 3 Star hotel resembles a Portuguese-style villa, and houses 55 spacious rooms, each with a private balcony. Policies
  1. Guest must be over 18 years of age to check-in to this hotel.
  2. As per Government regulations, it is mandatory for all guests above 18 years of age to carry a valid photo identity card & address proof at the time of check-in. Please note that failure to abide by this can result with the hotel denying a check-in. Hotels normally do not provide any refund for such cancellations.
  3. The standard check-in and check-out times are 12 noon. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to hotel availability and may also be chargeable by the hotel. Any early check-in or late check-out request must be directed to and reconfirmed with the hotel directly.
  4. Failure to check-in to the hotel, will attract the full cost of stay or penalty as per the hotel cancellation policy.
  5. Hotels charge a compulsory Gala Dinner Supplement during Christmas, New Year's eve or other special events and festivals like Diwali or Dusshera. These additional charge are not included in the booking amount and will be collected directly at the hotel.
  6. There might be seasonal variation in hotel tariff rates during Peak days, for example URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the room tariff differences if any will have to be borne and paid by the customer directly at the hotel, if the booking stay period falls during such dates.
  7. All additional charges other than the room charges and inclusions as mentioned in the booking voucher are to be borne and paid separately during check-out. Please make sure that you are aware of all such charges that may comes as extras. Some of them can be WiFi costs, Mini Bar, Laundry Expenses, Telephone calls, Room Service, Snacks etc.
  8. Some hotels may have policies that do not allow unmarried / unrelated couples or certain foreign nationalities to check-in without the correct documentation. No refund will be applicable in case the hotel denies check-in under such circumstances. If you have any doubts on this, do call us for any assistance
  9. Any changes or booking modifications are subject to availability and charges may apply as per the hotel policies.

  6. The total price is inclusive of all applicable taxes. However, it does not include additional personal expenses like telephone charges, meals that aren't a part of your meal plan, any hotel services you use (like laundry and room service) or tips.The hotel will charge you directly for these when you're checking out.
  7. Hotels may charge a mandatory meal surcharge on festive periods e.g. Christmas, New Year's Eve etc. All additional charges (including mandatory meal surcharges) need to be cleared directly at the hotel.
  8. Some hotels may require guest(s) to furnish a valid photographic proof of identity in original at the time of Check-in. Kindly carry the same along with you to avoid any inconvenience. The following documents are recognized for this purpose: Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, Passport or Election Card.
  9. Note PAN Cards will not be accepted as a valid ID card.
  10. All refund requests must occur within 60 days of hotel check-out. Any refund for checking out early or for no shows will be given at the sole discretion of goomo.com.
  11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
  12. Goomo acts purely as an agent to hotels/suppliers, hence Goomo shall not be responsible for issuance of any invoices on hotel room charges.
