Quiet and safe with good links to central Delhi
on Jan 31, 2019
The Ahuja was our favourite accommodation in the 2 weeks we’ve spent in India. Nothing was too much trouble from the 2am check-in after our much delayed coach journey to staff ringing our Uber driver to help with collecting us for the airport transfer after check-out. We initially booked for 1 night but were so impressed that we stayed for 3! All staff were very professional, very attentive, kind, helpful and polite. We felt extremely well looked after, enjoyed good food and had 3 comfortable and peaceful nights’ sleep. Hot showers and clean rooms throughout the whole complex made this a perfect stay. Khan Market is 5 minutes walking distance for shops, restaurants and the metro to central Delhi, giving you the choice of dipping in and out of the busy city at your leisure.
Fantastic Hotel/Guest House in the heart of Delhi
on Jan 30, 2019
The rooms and bathrooms are large, clean, quiet, bright and well maintained. There are outdoor spaces to sit out in the morning or evening for a tea or drink. The food is really good. The breakfast buffet is small unlike other 5* hotels but is quality food with personal attention. It is in close proximity to all the sites in Delhi, walking proximity, 7-10 mins, to Khan Market which offers shopping, restaurants, bars, cafes, etc. I stayed in room # 10 and it was fantastic.
After booking and confirmation mail the hotel said they are sold out
on Jan 12, 2019
Because of good reviews, I booked the place through booking.com. Though, even after confirmation mail from the hotel's end, next day I got a call that informed me that they are sold out and wanted me to shift to another property owned by them. After that, I got three/ four times call from their end so that I change my booking according to their suggestion.
Decent but not perfect
on Jan 6, 2019
The location of the hotel is lovely (though difficult to find) but the place is quite shabby, and doesn’t look as sharp as the photos would suggest.
My first morning there was no hot water, and the second the morning, the switch for the tap to the shower wouldn’t work.
I’m also pretty sure I was offered a room with city views and a balcony, but received neither.
That said, it’s a comfortable hotel, and I’d use it if my usual first choice in Delhi was unable to accommodate.
No better place for arts and music
on Jan 2, 2019
For travellers like us - independent, older, of modest means, keenly interested in Indian arts and music - there can be no better place to stay in New Delhi than Ahuja Residency, Golf Links. Its proximity (within walking distance) to the India Habitat Centre, the India International Centre and the bookshops of Khan Market make it ideal. It is a quiet haven in a safe, green residential neighbourhood and has been recently refurbished, with attractive gardens and terraces and its own small restaurant if you wish to eat in. The meals, including breakfast, are tasty, plentiful and wholesome. Our room was very comfortably furnished with a good bathroom, the possibility of cross-ventilation and even a small sitting area. Everything is scrupulously clean and well-maintained. The staff are friendly, very efficient and helpful: in the office and the restaurant particularly. The rates represent very good value. We had engaging talk with other people with particular interests - many of them return guests, as we hope to be whenever we pass through Delhi.
