Located just 22km from Shimla on NH22, Aastha homestay has everything that a traveller needs. Quiet and serene atmosphere, best views with mountains and apple orchards in background, simple and hygienic home like food, friendly host and staff, neat and clean rooms...It's just perfect!

Meant for those who prefer staying "zara hatke" from the general holiday crowd. Perfect representation of a homestay, the Sharma family has ensured that the guests always feel comfortable and homely. They are definitely a paragon of Incredible India's "Atithi Devo Bhava"
The guest house is an extension of their home and can cater to 8 - 10 guests. 2 double bedrooms (with attached kitchen) and 1 family room (includes 2 bedrooms). Like I said, its an extension of their home, so Naresh ji and Nisha ji never let you feel out of place.
The rooms, though a little on the smaller side, are cosy enough and have all the basic facilities including a TV (something which tourists like us want to stay away from on a holiday). But please dont expect a hotel type treatment and I would request you to not stay here if you have such an expectation. Because, this place is meant for people who want to stay "zara hatke"
Talking about the view from the room, infact you can say the bed itself as the wall overlooking the majestic himalayas is all glass, its mesmerizing enough that you would have paid a few thousand bucks extra had it been a hotel.
About food, you only feel heavenly, because it is "ghar ka khana" (simple food), perfect and tasty, and definitely kind on your health.
Not to ignore that the Sharmas are running this homestay out of interest and passion, as they otherwise have a thriving business of apple orchards.
For adventure seekers and nature wanderers, I would suggest taking out the car and also visiting nearby heavenly places - Narkanda (for hatu peak), Tanu jabbar lake (frozen in winter), Thanedar (for feeling the majestic himalayas from a touching distance).
P.S. You visit the place as a stranger but go back with a relationship to cherish for life.
One of the best places we have ever been to, so far

Its such a busy life however, couldn't stop myself taking out time to share my experience about our stay at Aastha home stay.
It was new year time and all the places were jam packed. somehow we reached Aastha home stay and realized that none other could be a better place since this homestay is little away from the the crowded areas like Shimla and Kufri and best part is, there's no hotels or resorts around it, which makes it very peaceful. The view is absolutely mesmerizing. The home stay is beautifully made inside, cozy and very comfortable rooms and every arrangement was just perfect, cleanliness was flawless.
Mr. N K Sharma (the owner) is a very humble and pleasant personality, he gelled with us and took care of our small needs so well that we found him as a part of our family.
We'll miss the place a lot and thanks a bunch to Sharmaji.

Wonderful location, beautiful surroundings, not too far from Shimla, lovely and warm hosts, nice home grown organic food... That is only an experience to cherish. This place will give you all good memories. Me and my family were fortunate to spend some time with Nareshji and Nishaji.. Thank you very much

This place is nestled in a heavenly abode with beautiful valley in front. Nareshji is an excellent host who takes extremely good care of the guests. He also gives great travelling suggestion after interacting and understanding what the guest wants. Food served by his wife Nishaji is sumptuous. They always provide more food than required and willing to serve anything one wants to eat (veg). I visited with my parents and Nareshji was kind enough to provide the big cottage on the ground noticing that my mom had walking issue. That showed how considerate he was given that he is a businessman too. They are wonderful people and Talai is a place to enjoy nature and have a relaxed holiday which can recharge and heal. Must visit for all who go to Shimla
