Uzbekistan Airlines was established January 1992, while daily operations only began May 1992. The airline made its maiden flight from Tashkent to London.

Uzbekistan Airways is headquartered at Tashkent and also uses the Tashkent airport as its main hub. It is the national airline / flag carrier of Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan Airways operates scheduled domestic and international flights from this major hub, Tashkent International Airport.

It was recorded in 2014 that the airline flew a total of 2.6 million passengers at a year-on-year decrease of 1.9%. However, they have been flying 4.6% more cargo year-on-year. They have maintained a solitary standing and are not a part of any partnership aviation or airline alliance.
