About Kuwait Airways
Kuwait Airways was founded and started operations back in in the year 1954. In the beginning it flew to a limited number of destinations which included Beirut, Damascus, Abadan and Jerusalem. After it began operations, successfully the government took over the company. Soon after that Kuwait Airways extended its route map to the rest of the world. Kuwait Airways was wholly acquired and run by the government of Kuwait in the February of 2017.
Kuwait Airways has a few subsidiaries that are going through a similar privatization process as they did. Those subsidiaries include Kuwait Aviation Services Co. (KASCO), Automated Systems Co. and ALAFCO.
Kuwait Airways also has a few alliances with airlines to keep up with the growing demand. Some of them are on-going while some have ceased operations together. They include Shorouk Air (ceased operation 2003), Jet Airways (India) and Trans World Airlines (began 1 December 1999 with code share between JFK and Chicago to Kuwait City).
Kuwait Airways has been in existence for over 50 years in the aviation industry. It has earned a great reputation and goodwill over the years. For that, it has been awarded on numerous occasions. If the past it was given the 'Best Airline for Air Safety' at the Air Safety Awards.
Kuwait Airways Destinations
From its hub at Kuwait International Airport, Kuwait Airways flies to 50 international destinations across Asia, Europe, North America and the Middle East. Some of the countries to which it flies are India, Jordon, France, Japan, Singapore etc.
Kuwait Airways Network and Fleet
This carrier has the latest fleet of aircraft. The current fleet comprises six Airbus A300-600Rs, three Airbus A310-300s, 10 Airbus A320-200s, five Airbus A330-200s, four Airbus A340-300s, one Boeing 747-400s, two Boeing 777-200ERs and seven Boeing 777-300ERs.
Kuwait Airways has codeshare agreements with just three airlines which include Alitalia, Ethiopian Airlines and Yemenia.
