About Ethiopian Airlines

Formerly known as Ethiopian Air Lines and now referred to as Ethiopian Airlines, is the Ethiopia's national / flag carrier of Ethiopia. It is owned by the government of Ethiopia. It began operations in 1946 and but was founded a year earlier in 1945. Ethiopian Airlines is a member of the International Air Transport Association and the African Airlines Association. Ethiopian Airlines is a part of the Star Alliance. Ethiopian Airlines is headquartered at the Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa. The airline has been a top runner since it began operations. Ethiopian Airlines Network and Fleet

The current in-service fleet of Ethiopian Airlines comprises four Airbus A350-900s, eight Boeing 737-700s, 16 Boeing 737-800s, six Boeing 767-300ERs (to be retired), six Boeing 777-200LRs, four Boeing 777-300ERs, 18 Boeing 787-8s and 19 Bombardier Dash 8 Q400s.

They are planning expansion of their fleet with 30 Boeing 737 MAX 8s, four Boeing 787-9s, one Boeing 787-8 and 10 Airbus A350-900s which have been ordered.
