Cathay Pacific Baggage Allowances
Cathay Pacific baggage allowance differs from passenger-to-passenger based on the route he flies, the class in which tickets have been booked, and the membership status of the person flying. If you are flying First Class, you are allowed to carry a baggage up to 40kg. However if you are flying Business, Premium Economy, and Economy Classes the baggage allowance is 30 kilos, 25 kilos, and 20 kilograms respectively. This classifications is valid on all the routes, except for those people who are flying point to point from Qatar and New Zealand to Hong Kong.
If you are a member of the Marco Polo Club with either Diamond, Gold, or the Silver membership, you are allowed carry up to 20, 15, and 10kgs of additional baggage respectively. In addition to the extra baggage allowance, passengers from those membership categories can enjoy a lot of other benefits. For example, if you are flying from India to either Australia or New Zealand you are permitted to carry up to 40kilos of luggage in any class you choose to fly. If you board your flight from either Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru or Hyderabad on your way to Japan, Business Class passengers can carry 40 kilos while Premium Economy, and Economy passengers can carry up to 30 kilos. If you are flying Cathay Pacific from Delhi to Japan, you can carry a total of 40 kilos with you. The rules for those flying to Philippines and Korea in Business Class are similar, you can carry a total of 40 kgs. However, for the other two classes the cap of baggage allowance is at 30 kgs.
Cathay Pacific Cuisine & Catering
One of the things that stands out on Cathay Pacific flights is their food. Cathay Dragon continues to draw upon its Chinese legacy. The in-flight menu has a list of seasonal specialities from China that include winter hot pot and Shanghainese hairy crab roe. The airline has collaborated with Chef Nic Cookies, whose baked cookies are famous in Hong Kong cafés and better known as ‘Cha Chaan Teng’.
The food and beverages (both alcoholic & non-alcoholic) are a part of the ticket fare. You are served hot meals generally in all classes that you opt to fly.
