In-flight Entertainment on AirAsia
When you are flying with Air Asia, there are numerous ways you can spend your time on-board. You can use the in-flight entertainment system and enjoy access to loads of international movies, TV shows, listen to music from different genres, play games, and read magazines. All this can be done on the Xcite Tab.
Air Asia Catering
When you fly with AirAsia, you have the option to buy food when on-board. This on-board program of buying food and drinks is called "Snack Attack." Air Asia’s Snack Attack is in accordance with the Shariah law and hence does not serve pork or alcohol to passengers on board. This rule applies only to the AirAsia flights and not to the AirAsia X flights. The former allows passengers to buy and consume beer as well as wine on-board.
Baggage Allowance on Air Asia Flights
As compared to most airlines, Air Asia is lenient when it comes to baggage allowance. When flying domestically, your baggage allowance is divided into categories viz 15kg, 20kg, 25kg, 30kg, and 40kg. However, flyers with the same booking number can share baggage weight. Though, every item that they carry needs to weigh less than 32kgs. Anything in excess of that is charged on a per kilogram basis as per the fee schedule that is set by the airline. Air Asia allows its passengers to check in musical items like guitars, cellos, violins etc. which exceed dimension allowance, however it has to remain within the 75kg limit.
AirAsia as a group operates flights to over 165 destinations across 25 countries.
Air Asia Frequent Flyer Programme & Alliance
AirAsia is working towards creating their very own frequent-flyer program. Air Asia has gotten into a joint venture with Tune Money, a financial services firm, with the plan to launch a program called BIG. Here, passengers who fly with AirAsia will be able to collect loyalty points. These points can be redeemed on AirAsia flights.
